This trip was to celebrate my mother's 86th Birthday. We are GHA Titanium members, and we appreciate that our status was recognized and honored at multiple points of contact, including during check-in and also in the handwritten welcome note from the management. We got 2x room tier upgrades, and the usual benefits, including early check-in, F&B discounts, etc.
We stayed in the 2 Executive King Balcony rooms located in the Royal Wing. We requested for the rooms to be next to each other and close to the elevator, which they did allocate to us. They prepared a birthday surprise in my mother's room, with balloons, some pastries and a birthday cake. Rooms were very nice, surely due to the excellent upkeep, you would never know the hotel is nearly 15yrs old! Everything was in great condition, rooms looked new and clean.
We had the pleasure to dine at ALATI for lunch, and we have to say, the staff were very well-trained, extremely patient, and the food was all very delicious. We tried some cocktails too, and they too were very well executed.
Special mention to the hotel for taking care of our concerns, especially when travelling with the elderly, we would always worry about transportation, so we were very glad we went ahead with the hotel airport transfer, because they helped so much with my elderly parents getting on and off the van. We are grateful for the hotel staff stationed at the airport, who helped with our luggage, we literally didn't have to lift a finger, and personally walked us all the way to the priority lane. Really top class service in terms of airport transfer, quite possibly the most personalized airport transfer we've ever experienced, which we really appreciated!
Breakfast every morning comes with many choices, and the highlight was also the à la carte menu, which expanded upon an already large buffet spread. The breakfast crew were really efficient, running like clock-work, even when the restaurant got busy. Best time to be to have breakfast would be around 8.a.m, when it's not hectic, because the crowd starts coming in around 8.30a.m onwards.
Our executive rooms also gave us access to the Executive Lounge, located on the 17th floor of the Royal Wing. It's a great place to enjoy cocktails, and you get a nice view of Bangkok's skyline from the balcony. They also serve high tea daily from 2 to 4pm and cocktails from 5 to 7pm, which is complimentary for executive rooms.
The highlight of our stay, was how peaceful and tranquil the hotel is. Outside the hotel, Bangkok is very loud and alive with so much activity, and the moment you step into the hotel, it's like stepping into another world. It was like an oasis of calm and class, all rolled into one. The spacious lobby, with its high ceiling, large doors, and even harp music playing, is impressive.
Unfortunately, our stay was really short, and we were not able to enjoy the facilities of the hotel to the fullest due to our tight itinerary, but what we have experienced, was what we have come to expect from Kempinski's brand of hospitality : excellent service, amenities and food.
We made all arrangements prior to our trip with the hotel via email, and everything from airport transfers, informing them of my mother's birthday, and also other special requirements, like non-slip mats in the bathrooms. We have to say that all our email correspondences were always replied to in a timely manner, and reservations were extremely helpful with all our queries.
Furthermore, we were fortunate to stay during the hotel's 15th celebrations, which came with some benefits, including a generous THB1500 credit per room, per night, which you could spend at the hotel, even in-room dining! Not sure why the 1897 Lounge is excluded from the promotion, since the lounge is pretty iconic.
It's been a short and wonderful stay at Siam Kempinski. Everything exceeded our expectations, Singapore is just a short 2hrs away, and we will absolutely be back to stay again in the future! Thank you, Siam Kempinski, for making this trip for my mother's 86th birthday, a special and memorable one!Show More
