I was incredibly frustrated by all the technology that this hotel uses. This was a very UN-fun and UN-relaxing experience for me — when I needed quite the opposite (have not been able to travel for 2 years due to family health issues). Hotel gave no heads-up about what to expect to enter the property in check-in. I felt like an intruder. TV instructions were manic. I had texted with the hotel before I arrived to ask various questions, which were answered pretty promptly. But when I did arrive, I found out that everyone at the front desk is named “Ellis” — was this a bot? This hotel wants to offer a personalized experience but I get a bot to chat with? Maybe it’s the wave of the future, but I didn’t sign up for that for this trip. The “extras” were dumb. Why not just lower the prices and skip the percentage-off local restaurants and such? Too much work to figure out. Saturday morning breakfast starts at 9:00am. What???? I was all set to enjoy a breakfast but couldn’t because I had to leave. Some good stuff — The hotel is in a good location to Pike Place Market and many local activities. Hotel was clean, had a pretty well appointed room, comfy bed. Tasty morning coffee in reception. Overall, I was really disappointed with this choice. Frustrations abounded.Show More

Love this hotel...steps away from Pike Place Market and the steps down to the waterfront. Around the corner from Triple Door, Showbox and Benaroya Hall....downtown shopping, restaurants, etc. Check-in is at 4:00, we arrive way early and they securely kept our bags so we could go exploring. When we did check into our room, we found it extremely clean, snacks and water awaiting us, and we had a killer view out over the market to the Sound and the Olympics. Nice security features including key card opening for the entry door and the elevator. On-line check-in was a breeze and Dixie at the reception counter was so incredibly friendly and helpful...kudos to her!!! We found our bed to be very comfortable and the robes....they actually had LARGE size so I could actually wear one. State Hotel is part of the Stash Partnership and we have found all their hotels (at least the ones we have stayed at) to be of high quality. We have now found our go-to hotel when we come to Seattle!!!Show More

Rooms are small, more like in Europe, but clean. Attached Ben Paris has decent breakfast and dinner options and hotel guests receive a $15 per person chip to be used in the restaurant. During our dinner at Ben Paris, service was poor, taking over an hour before being served after orders taken. We assume (certainly hope) that is not typical. Restaurant servers and hotel staff are very friendly.Show More
