W...Staypineapple, An Artful Hotel, was a perfect HQ for our anniversary trip to NYC to see a Broadway show. You can't beat the location. Just a few blocks from Moynihan Train Station and Penn Station. We were greeted warmly and able to leave out bags and explore the city as our room wasn't ready yet. Like other Staypineapple's the lobby has a refillable water station, which kept us hydrated. After exploring the city, we returned to check in after 3. We were on the 23rd floor at the back of the hotel where it was quieter. Having stayed at the Boston Staypineapple early in the year, we knew the hotel would be on the tinier side, however, I was pleasantly surprised by the size of our room. We even had a full closet. The staff had also surprised us with decorating the room and giving us a box of pineapple cookies as a special treat since I shared we were celebrating our anniversary. It was such a nice touch. The room had a comfy king and the cozy individual comforters, coffee/tea maker and free water reusable water bottle, and hairdryer. There were robes in the closet, and a safe. The bathroom was clean, tiny and functional as expected. It actually had a real medicine closet so you could store your toiletries. There are only 4 rooms on each floor and we didn't hear noise from any of them. Being on the back of the building we didn't hear much street noise despite being in the heart of the city. The wifi worked and the two elevators were pretty fast considering we were on a higher floor. It was easy to walk around all over midtown from the hotel. Took us 15 minutes to get to our theater. You could also walk to Hudson Yards and the High Line in about 15 minutes. On the last day, we were able to store our bags and do some final sight seeing before heading to our afternoon train.Show More

The photos are accurate, it's a very small space about 10'x11' plus the toilet/shower closet which was roomier than expected vs. the size of the main space. The window is slanted and ceilings are not that high and the beds are standard twins, not twin XL so this particular room would not be great for big people or above average height. My son absolutely loved the room but as an adult woman I was glad to just be there 1 night due to the size. I'm sure other rooms in the hotel are more spacious. We chose this hotel due to the good reviews and great access to Madison Square Garden. It was also a really expensive night in NYC for hotels and I got a good rate here. And to be fair, my personal preference is for more grand hotels, I don't really like boutique hotels in general so maybe this would be right up someone else's alley :) Pros: location, free drinks/snacks, shower water nice and hot, beds were cozy, pineapple motif is cute, Tommy Bahama toiletries smell nice, like the hand soap and lotion at the sink, overall clean and modern. Cons: small lobby, check-in staff were not overly friendly, room wasn't ready until 4pm which I know is the time that is guaranteed but I always love when a hotel has my room ready a little early, pillowcases didn't smell fresh, hallways very narrow, just a quirky vibe overall. Couldn't control HVAC, room was hot even in November!Show More

I traveled to visit Peloton studios for a solo weekend and this was a great hotel to stay as it was 10-15 minute walk from Hudson Yards, Times Square, and the fashion district. It was just a few minut...I traveled to visit Peloton studios for a solo weekend and this was a great hotel to stay as it was 10-15 minute walk from Hudson Yards, Times Square, and the fashion district. It was just a few minute walk to Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. There were always people around, so I felt safe walking everywhere and I didn't use a taxi. I recommend Vito's Slices, just around the corner, and Starstruck Coffee, a cute locally-owned shop. I stayed in a Persona Queen room and it was small, but they mention that it's for a solo traveler, so I expected that. The queen bed takes up most of the space, so I think it would be too small even for a couple. But it was quiet (I was on the 25th floor), clean, and the rooms make the most of their space. The beds are super cozy and comfortable! They also go above and beyond to personalize your stay, especially if you tell them why you're there. Most of the staff was very friendly. They hold your bags after checkout if you want. If I'm in NYC again on a solo trip, I would definitely stay there again.Show More

But it was tiny - a bed up against the wall, with not enough room for two people to walk around the other side, or to open a suitcase fully, and my husband couldn't stand up straight in the shower (he is 6"4). And, if you sat on the end of the bed, it tipped the whole thing forward because it wasn't secured properly. The $34.47 amenities fee (on top of the $232 per night for the room) is also a joke. We didn't want any of the things it offered (we were there for one night - we couldn't possibly have got enough cans of soda or chips to justify it) but were not allowed to refuse it. People make excuses for New York, but once you're looking at prices this high its pathetic that the city's tourist and hospitality industries are in such a bad shape that this is the best they can offer.Show More
