Unfortunately, there were several m...The positives of this hotel are that the staff were consistently friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location was also convenient and the room was clean and tidy. Unfortunately, there were several major issues. Firstly, it was constantly noisy; during the night there were sirens, random shouting/arguments and the sound of emptying bins (smashing glass etc) from the street outside. Guests were also noisy in the hotel during night hours including in the corridors and adjacent rooms. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel. The quality of sleep was very poor. The second major issue is, as many other reviewers have mentioned, the "amenity fee" (resort fee etc) of $25 per day. It seems great when you check in that you get a 'free' welcome drink, biscuits at reception at certain times, and water refill station in the lobby, until you realise that in reality you are paying an extortionate amount for these facilities in the form of the $25/day fee. This is just ridiculous and sends the cost of the stay way above what it should be. Elevators could also be slow to arrive. The room was fine, but basic. This felt like quite an old hotel which has just been splashed with some Stay Pineapple decor and this gives them the right to charge a huge amount of money for the stay. I wanted to love this place as the marketing/branding is great but the reality did not live up to the hype.Show More

Upon arrival my credit card was swiped for incidentals (expected) and an 'amenities fee' (not expected). I was charged $25 per day for basic amenities that are free (or included in the price) at every other hotel I have stayed at! The amenities were: tea and coffee machine in my room, a bottle of water, access to a water bar to refill the bottle, access to rental bikes, access to the fitness center, access to streaming services on the TV in your room (Hulu and Netflix thought your own account), one welcome drink at the bar that is never open, and the use of the bath robes in your room! Really?? Are these amenities really worth an additional and mandatory $25 per day?? I did not use any of them and I could not opt out of the fee. Disgraceful. I will never stay at a StayPineapple hotel ever again.Show More
