I stayed at this property a lot in the late 90s and early 00s. The hotel day is no comparison. The hotel day is no comparison. The revamp is quite stunning with elegant public areas and a level of service that is often exceptional. It should add that the hotel smells gorgeous too! It is exceptionally clean. Public areas are tidy and well presented and my room was spotless. It’s rare to stay in a property that looks so pristine. It’s obviously well looked after. There are a few things that meant a 4 instead of 5 star review. Firstly, my superior single room. It was small - much more so than I had anticipated. And I didn’t really like having the bed pushed up against the wall. It wasn’t especially comfy. And the lack of a bedside light wasn’t good. My other less than 5 star experience was breakfast. The process for getting hot food is overly complicated. Why not let customers serve their own egg, sausage etc. or, if you do want to continue with chef service, then implement an efficient queue system. Secondly - it was really embarrassing to watch various members of staff having arguments. There were at least four members of staff having altercations at different times - mainly moaning at their manager. I appreciate it must be a very pressured environment but it’s still not great to see. Overall it was a good stay. Great location and a sparklingly well presented property.Show More

Within a 20 min walk of all the tourist sites to visit Buckingham palace, British museum and Big Ben, etc. The hotels rooms are value for money, with especially cleanliness throughout the hotel and its rooms. They have a really good gym Amenities in there gym to get a quick workout in. The noise level is none existent in the rooms. You wouldn’t know that there restaurant on the ground floor is packed full especially from the 1st floor and above. The staff from the cleaners, to receptionist are very helpful to help with your needs. Sachan the security guard is very helpful. He’s always got a smile on his face and always there to help out with any questions and issues you may have.Show More

Breakfast was good, room, simple decor but clean and, what is important, very quiet. I really enjoyed staying in the Strand. The only thing that I have concern is that , at the check-in, I was asked to pay deposit - didn't not feel right but I did pay it. This was supposed to be returned to me automatically with 5-10 days - why so long? 3 emails to the Strand later, and only 1 initial response, I am still waiting and it has been a month already. Hopefully after this review, someone will get back to me.Show More
