This time around he had to go to amazing Madrid but exactly on our 30th wedding anniversary. Ugh. But... What to do? Work is work and we can always celebrate another day. But I did contact the hotel and asked for assistance in making a surprise on the big day and - yes, of course, they could totally assist me. A list of various courtship packages was sent and I could choose one which could suit best and the price list of each item. Very convenient and many items to choose from. A link was sent and I could make the payment and pronto: everything was set. This communication was quick, I never waited long for a reply and on the top of that, I was asked to leave a message if I wanted to AND a picture to be displayed in his room TV. I am so impressed by the level of service and care VP Plaza Espana Design showed me; I'm not even a resident at the hotel. And very happy too, of course: we could celebrate somehow although we were not physically together. I'd like especially show my gratitude to the attendant Antonio Fernandez at Relaciones Publicas who made everything possible and had the patience to answer to all questions and doubts I had. And because he really walked an extra mile for us, thank you very much indeed, Mr Fernandez!Show More

Our room was large and comfortable, quiet at night. We appreciated the daily replenished coffee capsules. We did not take the breakfast offered as it was €35 each but found a Dia supermarket where we could stock up on simple breakfast foods to have in our room. There is a cafe nearby, a little like a UK Pret, which also had more economical breakfast options. We stayed in early September and even though it was super hot, the swimming pool was firmly closed for the season on September 1st. The roof top bar was also not as good as we had hoped as it was noisy, smoky and the cocktails were mediocre. Much better to be had elsewhere in Madrid. Staff were helpful and courteous. The wifi did not work on our floor, the 4th.Show More
