As I was checking in; she ...Upon my arrival on 8/12/2025, (approximately 4:15 p.m.), my initial contact with Cheryl at the front desk was not professional or pleasant. She was not welcoming towards me. As I was checking in; she without warning walked away from the counter and proceeded to happily assist other guests in the lobby area. Her negative demeanor was evident, e.g. facial expressions, nonverbals. Shortly after I took my luggage to the room, I returned to the desk for parking validation assistance. Within seconds of her beginning to assist me, she summoned another guest from behind me to assist him first. A total disregard and disrespect towards me. Another guest walked up beside me expecting to be immediately assisted as well. She may have had an epiphany, as she advised that guest that she was currently assisting me, as she aggressively fumbled through the parking validation binder. My Guest shared his unpleasant experience with Cheryl. Suggested upgrades: lobby, elevators, carpet, room, specifically the bathroom. It appeared to be very outdated. The bathroom had a worn appearance, to include the knobs on the sink, tub, and toilet. The price and stay were not comparable. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable. Upon checkout (8/14/2025) Cheryl appeared to be in good spirits. It is my suggestion that people that cannot positively relate to people, should 'Not' apply and/or accept employment that requires direct interaction with the public. We tried it our...I recently stayed at The Whitehall Hotel, and while the location and historic charm are definite positives, my overall experience was mixed. The attached restaurant was a big letdown. We tried it our first night, and although our waiter was friendly, the service was very poor. Drinks were forgotten, food came out overcooked, and the pace was slow—even though the restaurant was nearly empty. The room itself was spacious and clean, but it’s clear the property needs some updating. The shower dial in our bathroom was broken, making it difficult to adjust water temperature. The fridge in the room was inconsistent, turning on and off, and when we reported this to the front desk, we were told someone would come up—but no one ever did. Another frustration was the ice situation—you have to request it, and after waiting almost two hours without delivery, we ended up going to the front desk ourselves to get some. Digital check-in was also confusing and left a bad impression. I repeatedly tried to pay for a 2pm late checkout for $25, and it kept getting declined, but oddly enough, the $45 3pm checkout was approved right away. This gave scammy vibes, especially when the front desk didn’t even seem aware that it had gone through—even though I had confirmation on my phone. Overall, the hotel has potential—it’s clean, has character, and the rooms are a decent size—but the lack of attention to detail, poor follow-through on service, and outdated amenities made my stay feel “meh.” Show More

The hotel feels more like a 2-star property due to its outdated facilities and subpar service. The breakfast buffet was chaotic and unhygienic. There was no one checking if guests were actually staying at the hotel, which led to a disorganized and messy scene. It was a scramble, not a relaxed morning meal. My room was not cleaned at all during my entire stay. When I asked about housekeeping, the only offer was to drop off fresh towels and take out the trash. The hotel appears to be severely understaffed, with front desk employees handling multiple roles, including concierge, housekeeping, and maintenance. My only positive interaction was with Felicia at the front desk. She was incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. However, a different, older front desk employee seemed unprepared and had to rely on Felicia for assistance. Unfortunately, the overall experience was poor, and I would not recommend this hotel. In bathroom, the ceiling over the tub had cracks and chipping paint. Faucet handles were loose and difficult to control. I was renting a junior suite but there was no additional small bed as was described so my small child can sleep on. Thermostat kept on reporting different ambient temperature and changing the flow of cold and hot air. The breakfast time there was no refills on water, pastries. There was an issue with the toilet not flushing and called the housekeeping at 10am. Called them back to make sure it was done and was told I never called or made any request. It was done at 5pm. The only positive thing was the lady at the front desk. She was very polite and very pleasant to communicate with. Didn’t catch her name but she had short hair. Show More
