We stopped in this hotel as part of a Newmarket tour - "The Deep South" and this was the last hotel we stopped in before the cruise . I would say out of the three hotels we stopped on the tour this on...We stopped in this hotel as part of a Newmarket tour - "The Deep South" and this was the last hotel we stopped in before the cruise . I would say out of the three hotels we stopped on the tour this one was the worst . It smelt of dampness and was a really busy hotel which could do with a clean up . With it being in a central position this is what you must expect . As soon as you walked outside there was that aroma of "Waccy Baccy" which you got used to . In the morning a tanker named "Lemon Drop" sprayed the road white and this smelt great - well for an hour or so . The room itself was okay - nothing special but we didn't spend much time in there . The restaurant next door is good value if you have walked and fancy a rest and a drink - no bar at the hotel . To visit Bourbon Street is a must and this hotel is less than five minutes away which is the best feature of the place . If you are visiting New Orleans then this hotel is in a prime position - near to the Paddle steamer trips (15 minutes walk) and near to Bourbon Street . I would pick a better place if I could but we were on a tour of "The South" from the UK and had no choice of hotel - if you don't want to walk far and see the sights of New Orleans as part of a trip then this is ideal but if you are visiting by car - I would pick somewhere else .Show More

This is my 3rd time staying at this property. I've stayed for Business and Leisure and the previous stays were 4/5 star experiences. My recent stay not so much. The Valet guy that I met at check-in wa...This is my 3rd time staying at this property. I've stayed for Business and Leisure and the previous stays were 4/5 star experiences. My recent stay not so much. The Valet guy that I met at check-in was apparently having a bad day and didn't feel like being bothered, but the front desk staff were nice. However, the room was outdated, bathroom tub was stopped up, the shower appeared to have mold in it, the A/C unit made a loud clicking noise while on, the Iron and the Ironing board was Very Old and needed replacing. Lastly I would have liked to have had a Microwave and/Or Refrigerator, but hey I don't know there budget. Some Pros is that the bed was comfortable, Mr. Ed's food and staff were nice, The infused Water on the 10th floor came in handy and valet at checkout was great! Not sure I will be staying here the next time I am in New Orleans, but it was an interesting experience while it lasted. 😉Show More

Was there last year for a week after my 7 day cruise. I did the same thing this year after my cruise. The hotel is situated in an excellent area for shopping and Restaurants plus music.
