The bits that made it a perfect star rating are the amazing beds, black out curtains, in-house restaurant with considered and thoughtful menus (and a pretty good dj night!), cleanliness and well timed housekeeping, the sunny bench seat and a partly opening window for fresh air .. easy walking access to Central Park and 5th and Madison Avenues. Nespresso coffee machine to enjoy the bench seat and a read or relax … lastly a good strong shower and the little touches of premium products in the mini bar … We stayed 5th floor and surprisingly the outside city bustle was only noticeable when opening the window. The small things denting the perfect score was being placed in a room next to a family sadly with an unhappy baby and as we had a room with adjoining internal doors without being fully sealed allowed noise to travel easily and without muffle into our room … I did enquire about this and baby family checked out at our holiday half way point so didn’t asked to be moved but if a total quiet space is your treat be sure to ask for a room that doesn’t have an adjoining door internal access. And then check out muddied what was a hotel exceeding expectations. We were keen for a late check out for travel and days prior I was told per process to call just after 7am on morning of checkout .. so I did and the staff member gave later check out to 1.30pm and we were eternally grateful. However after normal checkout time we received a call asking when we were leaving as was past checkout time. I confirmed that just past 710am that morning I had confirmation of a late check out to 1.30. Got an apology … but no more around 20 minutes later I got another call asking the same question (we were still within the extra time given). And then to ice the cake we had a team member knock on the door as well (maybe housekeeping) as they had expected room by then … it seemed notes hadn’t been updated at all and made a planned checkout a little aggravating and stressful and shadowed everything else that had been so good. This was the last interaction with the hotel as we checked out online so we walked out with a slightly sour taste from the end experience that was a shame as mostly everything else was on point.Show More

I came in hours ahead of chec...It may say something about this hotel that when I couldn't get a room at the Park Lane, they strongly recommended I try 1 Hotel Central Park, and I'm very glad they did. I came in hours ahead of check-in time after taking a red-eye from LA and immediately felt welcomed, especially by Chris at the front desk, but by everybody I encountered during my two-night stay. And I was to find out just how excellent they were when I discovered, on returning to LA, that I had left my house keys in my room. Assistant Purchasing Manager Romy Berwick not only tracked them down but saw to it that they were Fed-Ex'ed to me overnight, and kept in touch throughout to make sure I received them. As for the hotel itself, the location is very convenient, the lobby friendly and lively (I didn't try Jams, the restaurant there, but it was busy and looked inviting), and although my room was small, it was very well-designed and comfortable and the amenities were high-quality. The housekeeping was so superior that I searched out my housekeeper to make sure she got my tip. I now have a new favorite hotel in New York. Sorry, Park Lane!Show More

I cannot think of a more welcoming experience than the one I had late Sunday night when I arrived at 1 Hotel Central Park: tired, hot, and hungry only to find that the kitchen would be closing in 5 mi...I cannot think of a more welcoming experience than the one I had late Sunday night when I arrived at 1 Hotel Central Park: tired, hot, and hungry only to find that the kitchen would be closing in 5 minutes. I was frozen with indecision and Sarah, the lovely person checking me in, did something very unexpected. She told me to wait a minute and went and retrieved a menu for me and asked what I would like. She then made sure the order was received before the deadline and had the delicious food delivered to my room within 15 minutes of me closing the door behind me. This was just the beginning of a truly wonderful stay. I found the organic/sustainable design elements incredibly soothing in such an urban environment and every staff interaction I had was warm and attentive. I would recommend this hotel as the perfect New York City stay for convenience, location, service, and comfort. What a terrific combination!Show More

Her genuine kindness and professionalism truly stood out and made us feel so well taken care of. Andrew, the bellhop, was equally amazing. He greeted us with such enthusiasm and helped us with our bags as if we were VIP guests. His friendly attitude and quick assistance made our arrival and departure seamless and stress-free. It’s rare to find hotel staff who make such a lasting impression, but Miya and Andrew did exactly that.
