I made the switch from another hotel last minute and could not have been more delighted with my choice. The hotel looks very inviting from the outside, and when you walk in you’re greeted with a very luxurious lobby. There is a great restaurant and bar (I didn’t use either but heard great things) and there is a great shop that has drinks/snacks for your room (excellent mulled wine!). The location is excellent, a couple of blocks away from Times Square & Madison Square Garden, but in a calmer, quieter street. My room was facing the street and there was zero noise. The room itself was amazing (I was in 806). Having stayed in NY a few times previously I couldn’t believe the size of this room. There was lovely seating in the window and tonnes of space around the bed. A great TV and extra amenities that were thoughtful. The bathroom was a great size, with a lovely spacious shower and luxury shower gels, shampoo etc. The room very felt modern/boutique and was spotless. I liked the feel of security in the hotel, you need to scan your card at the lift (which takes you directly to your floor) and there was always staff around which as a solo female traveller made me feel comfortable whatever time of the night/early morning. Last but not least, the staff were amazing. Always super friendly and happy to help with any questions. Special shout-out to Kenneth who was absolutely fantastic and is a real credit to the Arlo. He went out of his way to help and made the effort to remember my name so I felt like a friend being greeted every time. So kind. Don’t hesitate booking to stay here, you won’t regret it.Show More

Amazing shower facilities and a comfortable bed with a large TV. The location is ideal as you are within walking distance of almost anything (where there is a will there is a way). Upon entering the hotel, there was always a nice scent and clean. The restaurant was suprisingly good and I definitely recommend the buttermilk pancakes. Overall, super happy with this stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting NYC.Show More

The hotel has an amazing smell when you walk in. You can buy their scents which seemed reasonably priced. The foyer and reception is constantly busy. Breakfast for 2 x coffee and 2 x Avocado on toast...The hotel has an amazing smell when you walk in. You can buy their scents which seemed reasonably priced. The foyer and reception is constantly busy. Breakfast for 2 x coffee and 2 x Avocado on toast was a whopping $80. Rooms are good, not massive but clean and everything you need except tea/coffee station. Most of our group complained about not having this amenity but perhaps it is a NY thing? The shampoo, body wash etc are amazing. Be very careful of missing "resort taxes" of over $35 per room per night which are charged at check out. We booked through a website and this was not included nor did we know about it. Location wise, it is excellent. You are in walking distance to most attractions that any tourist would visit and a short walk to Javits Center if there for any business expo. Would I stay here again? Probably yes, but would eat outside as it is cheaper and will be mindful of the additional taxes. Having said that, we are returning to NY early next year and have opted for a Melia hotel this time.Show More

When I arrived, the front desk said there was an “engineering issue in the suite I’d reserved, but they could upgrade me to a suite with a terrace. A few minutes later, they said there was an issue with that room too, but that if I wanted to move to the nicer room in 2 days, they would arrange to do that. I declined the move plan, and they offered me an “accessible room” instead. The room was dirty, there was no chair to sit in; when I sat on what passed for a sofa, my head hit the bottom of the TV. The window faced the brick wall of a brick building that was in decline. Food in the restaurant was excellent but they were very short-staffed. Surprise visit from the city health department closed the restaurant entirely during breakfast one day. Very disappointing and I will not stay there again.Show More
