The Good:
The hotel itself is beautiful and located in a convenient area. The food and drinks at the bar were excellent, and the staff throughout the property were friendly and helpful with recommendations. The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the atrium is truly stunning. We stayed in a corner suite; the décor was tasteful, the space generous for NYC, and the amenities—robes, slippers, bath products, and plush towels—were all of high quality. Our second room (more on the first room below) was very quiet, and we didn’t hear any noise from outside or neighboring rooms. The front desk staff were consistently attentive and seemed genuinely invested in addressing our concerns.
The Bad:
Breakfast was average, and the service was noticeably slow. Our first room, unfortunately, was the loudest we’ve ever experienced in a hotel. While some city noise is expected in NYC, being able to clearly hear conversations on the street at 2 a.m. was excessive. The early-morning thumping music and construction noise made this particular corner suite difficult to stay in. After bringing this to the attention of the front desk, we were promptly relocated to a higher floor, and the staff handled the room change and luggage efficiently.
The Ugly:
Retrieving our car from valet took over two hours. The valet operation appeared disorganized, and there seemed to be little concern from the valet staff about the delay or the location of our vehicle. We received a series of excuses rather than solutions. Once again, the front desk manager was the only person who made an effort to keep us updated and seemed to genuinely care about the situation.
Would I stay here again or recommend it?
I’m unsure. We have stayed at The Four Seasons down the street many times and would likely choose it again based on the consistently higher service standards. At this price point, service is what truly differentiates a hotel experience, and The Beekman fell short in that regard.Show More
