Despite speaking with a staff member (Veronica) the morning of my reservation to request cancellation, I was not informed that I...I had an extremely disappointing experience at this Marriott Courtyard. Despite speaking with a staff member (Veronica) the morning of my reservation to request cancellation, I was not informed that I needed to arrive before noon to keep my room. Later that night, I arrived and was told my reservation had been cancelled due to a declined credit card—even though I had proof my card was charged and never received any email requesting updated payment. The staff offered no alternative accommodations or assistance, leaving me stranded in New York City at 10pm with no place to stay. I had to pay for two expensive Uber rides just to get home and back for my business meeting the next morning. Marriott refused to honor their “Ultimate Reservation Guarantee” for elite members, and I had to fight just to get a partial refund. Overall, this location failed to communicate important policies, did not follow through on their guarantees, and left me with unnecessary stress and costs. I would not recommend staying here.Show More

Pros: Friendly service Very clean room and common areas despite the age of the property Easy walking distance to a ton of attractions and mid-town businesses Priced better than many of their competitors in the same area Access to guestrooms via the elevator requires a room key Cons: No amenities beyond a water and coffee machine on the Mezzanine level Rooms / decor are out of date and rooms are small (typical for NYC) Bed was very uncomfortable No breakfast offered like other Courtyard hotels Overall this hotel is middle of the road and worth it if the price is right versus other properties and mid-town is your desired location. If you are looking for a hotel with full amenities (bar, restaurant, room service, etc.) I would recommend looking elsewhere.Show More

When I returned to collect it, several of my belongings were damaged including a MacBook. I immediately notified the hotel, and while I was initially receiving responses, I have since been ignored by the hotel. Although accidents can happen, the complete lack of accountability and communication has been extremely frustrating and disappointing, especially from a hotel brand I have trusted for years. Guests should be able to expect that their property will be handled responsibly and that the hotel will respond and act accordingly when something goes wrong. I hope management will take this seriously and improve both their handling of stored guest items and their customer service. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot currently recommend this location.Show More

As a longtime Marriott member, I reached out twice afterward. The response? They asked if I wanted to transfer my points for use outside Marriott — basically saying, “Goodbye, loyal guest.” This place is an embarrassment to the Marriott brand.Show More
