This location was the perfect spot for our family during Thanksgiving week. We were a few blocks away from a subway station (10 min walk) so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend the subway from the airport with lots of bags, but it was perfectly fine to get to and from any other excursions. We walked to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and got a front row seat on 59th/Central Park South. We walked back from Times Square/Broadway once, but it’s a 20-30 min walk so I don’t recommend if you’re not a walker. The room was very clean, the shower was hot and comfortable, and the noise level, at least in 601 where we stayed, was quiet. I’m very particular with cleanliness and this hotel was very well maintained. We requested housekeeping every day, and only didn’t get it one day of our Tues-Sat stay when we left and returned at an odd time. We booked a little last minute due to another hotel we’d had booked for months, closing the week before. There is a mini fridge and safe in the room, microwave in lobby. The room was NYC small, but we’ve stayed in smaller for much, much more money. The area was perfectly safe. We walked A LOT, and returned at night, and never had an issue or even a concern. The main complaint you’ll see is about the broken elevator. 2 elevators in the gilding and only one works. During daylight hours and you do have to call the front desk to call the elevator to come (by just picking up the phone in the hallway). It honestly didn’t take any longer than just pressing the button. We sometimes walked up and down because we were on the 6th floor and it wasn’t that long of a walk. But 95% of the time, we took the elevator. Stay here!Show More

The hotel tried to charge my deposit the day before arrival. The bank declined the charge thinking it might be a fraudulent transaction. An email went to spam. I didn’t see it until the next day while on a flight to NYC on the way to the hotel. I called the hotel because they canceled my reservation and wouldn’t reinstate it unless I paid x3 or x4 my guaranteed rate. They said they tried to call me and email me several times but I only had the one email that went to spam and no missed calls or voicemail on my Titanium Elite account phone number. The hotel left me high and dry even though they had a room remaining (MY ROOM!!!!). I went to a different hotel at a higher rate. Will never attempt to go here again.Show More
