I disliked this hotel from the minute I entered the dark space in front of the elevator that had a counter to check-in, a security guard and NOTHING else. Bleak. There isn’t a lobby. There isn’t a lobby. It in NO WAY is a 4 star. It is a 2 star at best. The elevator on my floor opened to two utility closets. My “King Superior “ room didn’t have space for my carryon bag except the bed. Very bleak. I even called the front desk to make sure I was in the right room. I looked at the online photos and saw that my room indeed had a shelf with a chair that could be a work space? The bedside table wasn’t big enough to charge my phone and iPad. The bathroom had a sink and a small glass shelf with 2 glasses, and my toothbrush/toothpaste. The window was feet from offices - I could see their face. The Safe - UNDER the bed. Definitely a 2 star hotel. I had stayed in the Standard Highline (4 star) and Hilton Garden Inn Financial (3 star) in October - They were BOTH FAR superior to FIDI. In fact when compared to the dozen NYC hotels I had stayed in the past year - FIDI was absolutely unquestionably the worst. Noisy air conditioner made sleeping nearly impossible. I skipped Breakfast after the first day. It was weak coffee, yoghurt, bagels & cereal. Basic free breakfast - Nothing like the free breakfasts at 4 star hotels eg The Marleton, Washington Square Hotel, or the Standard. I mentioned these hotels because FIDI was the most expensive and for 2 star quality, I strongly recommend you go elsewhere.Show More

If you're working in the financial district this is centrally located. If you have meetings in midtown or uptown you can use the subway that is 1 street over and jump on the number 5 line. As for the hotel, wonderful little surprises like the complimentary breakfast served on the second floor from 7am. Complimentary drinks and nibbles from 5pm and a good co-working space made it Business friendly. The team are knowledgeable and friendly, giving me great recommendations for dinner both nights (The Dead Rabbit and London & Martin). The rooms for New York are a good size, personally I would advise upgrading your room if you are planning to stay more than 4 days. But they are modern, well appointed and offer a great night's sleep. Only 2 things that aren't in the room, coffee/tea making facilities and an Iron. But that might be an older hotel style. 1 special note, you control the AC, it's not a centralized system. So you can set the temperature to your liking!Show More

The property was efficient, clean, and very well maintained. The white sheets and towels were spotless, and the room, although small, was updated, comfortable, and perfectly efficient. The location couldn’t have been better. Being just one block from the subway and surrounded by many great restaurants near Wall Street was extremely convenient, especially after a long day of travel. Your staff truly made a difference. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast offered a nice variety of choices in a warm, welcoming environment. I also appreciated the complimentary amenities, including the evening crackers and refreshments, which were a thoughtful touch after my hectic travel day. I would especially like to recognize Miguel G. at check-in. He was friendly, accommodating, and made me feel immediately welcome. His professionalism and kindness were greatly appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I will most definitely return on my next visit.Show More

I would definitely stay here again, but the breakfast is really not substantial enough as it is basically bagels and pastries with some fruit and porridge packets. Free wine and cheese one night which was a nice touch. Don’t be put off by the breakfast, as the hotel is so well located with Bowling green subway station 3 minutes away which connects to Jamaica street which is where the air train arrives from JFK. Give it a whirl, you won’t regret it Killarney Rose Irish bar around the corner is well worth a shout for an ego-free cosy drink.Show More
