The roo...This ryokan is superb. They were very welcoming for American tourists. We stayed a full week, which is unusual for them. But we wanted to explore the Kyoto area. The meals were fantastic. The rooms were comfortable and well-air conditioned--a must for July. We would enjoy the breakfast and then go out for sight-seeing in the morning. Have treats or snacks for lunch, then return for a soak in the ensuite soaking tub or a shower and time to read or nap. Then we would enjoy the fabulous included dinner and maybe go out for an evening stroll before bed. Our teenager was eager to try real Japanese dishes, and the ryokan was the perfect respite after muggy sight-seeing. The location was walking or bussing distance to all the sights and the train station for day trips to Osaka and Hiroshima. Did our laundry at a little laundromat one block over. Despite having to go in high summer when our son was off school, it was the perfect vacation.Show More

The hotel provided a yukata for both me and my partner, and it was a really nice experience to go to dinner in the dining room in it. The food was great: we attended both dinner and breakfast, and the staff was attentive and kind and helped explain how to go through each dish. We stayed just a single night and would definitely recommend it. Furthermore the hotel was really helpful in storing our luggage after we checked out so we could go out before we could check into the next hotel.Show More
