Our stay at Green Gables Bungalow Court was a nightmare from start to finish. Safety hazards are everywhere: rotting stairs, loose railings, broken pool chairs, and bees nests that stung multiple people. The cabins are sinking into the ground so badly that ice cube trays in the freezer had to be propped up to stay level, and the doors have half-inch cracks for all the creepy crawlies to come in. It’s simply NASTY. Filthy and neglected: bugs and cobwebs in every corner, peeling paint, stained and grimy furniture, rusted fixtures, mildewed bathroom corners, stained sheets, and a shower too small for a regular-sized adult. Dim lighting, malfunctioning smoke detector, stained musty furniture. Bees nests under our cabin and multiple people got stung. To top it off, the owner was hostile and rude. We had to wait around for an hour for our place to be cleaned, and during that time we overheard another couple arguing with management because there was a rats nest in their cabin furniture when they arrived. The head housekeeper/ maintenance woman was friendly and helpful. Perhaps she should take over, and start over by bulldozing the place to the ground) This place is beyond “rustic” — it’s unsafe and unsanitary. Avoid at all costs. Photos don’t lie. The cottages were all very run-down looking with very old, worn paint on the outside. The interior was rough…floors were slanted, doors didn’t close all the way and if they did, they stuck and we had to help kids get out of the bathroom. The paint was chipped and peeling in the bathroom and the shower was very tiny and dated with a short curtain that caused the floor to get soaked every time anyone used it. The sofa was not a pull-out like we were told so we bought a blow-up mattress for one of the kids. The kitchen was tiny but clean enough. We appreciated the daily garbage pick-up. The pool area was tidy even though the pool was old and the liner was ripping out of the sides. Overall the cottage was disappointing.Show More

The cabin was in poor condition- paint chips were falling off the bathroom wall, and the space between the shower and tiles was moldy. There were ants inside, and we ended up having to throw away our kid's snacks and cereal because of them. For what they charge per night, thr condition and cleanliness were completely unacceptable. We would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean and safe stay. Show More

Some of the cabins look a bit outdated but ours was suitable for our stay. Earwigs come out at night and there is sometimes musty odour in the air, shower curtain had some mildew on the bottom, towels and linens could be cleaner. Definitely need a car to get to bigger attractions but green gables heritage house, lm montgomery homestead, golf course, and tim hortons are walking distance. Location is safe and quiet.Show More
