The check-in was quick and easy. The staff was very friendly and professional. The room was very clean and well laid out. A few bits: Cons: Super small counter space can be problematic for ladies applying cosmetics. The shower stall is very small. I’m only 5’2 and slender and kept hitting my elbow on the safety bar. The elevators are so slow it could ruin your dinner reservations. It’s possible to wait 15 minutes for an elevator. The higher your room floor, the better your luck, potentially. But then you’ll stop on every floor going down. If you’re on a lower floor, the elevator will be crowded when it finally gets to you and you won’t be able to get on. No closets Pros: Very clean room Nice bathroom products (soaps, lotion and makeup remover) Modern looking hotel Small fridge and microwave in room Decent rates as compared to nearby hotelsShow More

You’re literally steps away from Times Square and the 42nd Street transit hubs, but the hotel felt like a quiet oasis. Yes, part of that is needing a key to enter the lobby, but it was still welcome relative calm. The room was clean and comfortable but cozy, as are most NYC hotel rooms. Everything functioned well and looked in good shape. Only wish would be to be able to run a constant fan on the HVAC without needing to trigger heat/cooling. The staff I briefly interacted was great - the front desk clerk was very engaging and even offered me extra snacks above my usual loyalty benefit. Housekeeping on my floor was also very engaging with the guests in the hall waiting for the elevator. The only complaint is the elevators are very busy and fill up quickly going down. I had quite a wait trying to leave from a top floor in the morning.Show More

The 42nd street subway is just over the road and it connects to all of the subway lines, so you can go everywhere from there. Rooms are compact, but had everything we needed, best of all they were quiet (although air con not so much!) Air conditioning kept the room cool. I checked in online, and although we arrived at 1.30am, the room I'd booked was waiting for us. Staff were unfailingly polite. Breakfast was fine, not as crowded as other reviews would have you believe, and we came down at the busiest times every day. Lifts occasionally had to be waited for in the mornings, otherwise they were swift. Luggage storage excellent, laundry lovely and clean. What more can I say? We stayed for nearly 2 weeks and loved it!Show More

Kudos to the entire staff for bringing their best that very busy week. During peak times you might wait a bit for the elevators but nothing a few minutes could not cure. We were in town especially for theater so if I wanted a Times Square location again I would not hesitate to stay here. Close proximity to the Subway and pro tip....take your suitcases up the street to Port Authority to get a cab to the airport or train station. It's just a one block walk. Getting a cab there allows the drivers to bypass Times Square traffic.Show More
