We were never told you must request them now. When we asked we were told they decided to remove after many things had to be thrown away and it was getting expensive. Here is a tip; DON’T STOCK THEM. During a recent trip I chose to stay at some very low level hotels. ALL HAD MINI FRIDGES. My wife and I had spoken so highly of Giraffe and had friends book there because of our word. How embarrassing for them to find NO FRIDGE. My wife and I enjoy bringing a cold soda back to have the next day or that evening. It would have been nice to have a blurb on the website telling guests about the need to request one if needed. BTW, our friends were kind but probably won’t be back to Giraffe. DISAPPOINTED!Show More

One thing we didn't care for that could be easily remedied by the hotel is the bathroom door that has a lightly frosted window. A bit awkward when you're in there and others are passing by! (You can definitely see through) A pull down shade perhaps would rectify this issue. Overall though, it was a great hotel, and I would stay there again.Show More

Even the "destination fee" that is a mandatory charge in all New York hotels is more modest and given that one gets a delicious breakfast, it is well worth it. The only thing is that the infrastructure is dated and the rooms are not as pristine as one would have liked. But the rooms are clean and comfortable.Show More
