Staying here right now — second night and have one more. This would be a decent hotel except for the bar upstairs — Mr. Purple — which is not owned by the hotel. This would be a decent hotel except for the bar upstairs — Mr. Purple — which is not owned by the hotel. I feel like the hotel should clearly indicate on their website that this is a very loud situation. I’m on the ninth floor and can hear it plenty and my son is on the 12th floor and says it is awful. The rooftop bar is on the 15th floor. The only people who should be on the upper level of this hotel are people who are having that jamming good time at the bar because it’s open until 4:00 a.m. and then they could come downstairs and pass out. I thought tonight (Saturday) would be quieter because it was when we got back at 10:00, but it is 11:31 pm and they are rocking and rolling. I feel badly for my son who is having a long weekend away from work, but he is 35 and not in his early 20s — which seems to be who the bar attracts — and he would actually like to sleep. He looked tired today from not being able to last night. I turned my sound machine up as loud as it would go hoping I would get so tired I would fall asleep despite it all. Terrible hotel situation. I don’t know if the hotel could do anything about it or if they even care. If you let them know about it, they just give the same pat answer I’ve seen others in these reviews say they give. Their response via text — they initiated the texts asking how the stay was going: “We sincerely apologize for the noise disturbance coming from the club. We understand how this can affect your comfort, and we truly appreciate your feedback. We’ll make sure to share your comments with our management team for review. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if there’s anything else we can do to make your stay more comfortable.” That is just a form type response they give to everyone that complains, I am sure. Anyway, I won’t be staying here ever again. This is unacceptable. Mr. Purple’s breakfast is just okay. It’s the same menu as the hotel’s room service. The hotel staff is decently friendly. I only interacted with them checking in. I did ask for an early check in and they provided that within a couple of hours after I arrived. The housekeeping has been fine. The rooms seems a bit worn in the flooring and the bathroom has some mold in the tile area around the edge of the shower floor.Show More

As a point...This was our 2nd stay at the Hotel Indigo Lower East Side. The Indigo is perfect for stays centric to this area - but also convenient by subway or walking or other transport to the city. As a point of reference it is 1/2 block from the famous Katz Deli - and a block from the subway. It sits on an absolutely charming smaller street in the Lower East Side. Hotel Indigo is a higher end member of the Intercontinental IHG group. I am a Platinum Elite with IHG so can certainly compare IHG's when I stay at one. What I wanted to specifically highlight here is the amazing managment and staff of this hotel which can make a real difference. From management to reception to doormen - all so lovely and well trained and just great people. AJ is the overall front desk manager - there our last visit as well - smart and very guest centric. He helped me our first visit with key information about the area and the second visit with a key room choice.. MILDA is the assistant overall front desk manager. She helped me last visit and this one working through my concerns with the travel issues of the recent air traffic controllers. JOSE is the overnight front desk manager and on two occasions was so very impressive with working with a few issues we had. He was smart and had great personal service ability mixed in with humor. Jose was above and beyond and shared with us he wanted to "wow" us. Problems do occur front time to time - it is how management deals with them with the customer that sets the guest experience. This Indigo sets wonderful standards and I thank them so much. We were in Room 1904 - a corner room on the 19th floor with an absolutely stunning 160 degree view southward on the island. We look forward to our next visit.Show More

I booked through hotel tonight but have stayed here before without any complaints. Arrived and showed my confirmation- the rudest front desk attendant ever said we don’t have that. I then said oh please check under my married name- he literally said”go sit down”. I then found my actual confirmation number which he refused to look at. Wouldn’t take my ID told me to turn it around to face him properly. I have never ever been treated so rudely at a front desk. The manager came- I explained how rude he was- he proceed to stare me down with dagger eyes and proceeded to talk about me to the next person checking in- right in front of my face. The manger found the reservation under the name I said it might be under and proceeded to check me in. No person working a front desk should EVER treat guest like that no matter what race or gender. I will never stay here again and plan to contact the corporate office as well. What has happened to this society?Show More

While I was staying at the hotel on Saturday night November 22, I came back from purchasing a carton of milk to use in the morning. I asked Nady at the desk where I could store it overnight. I asked Nady at the desk where I could store it overnight. She said she would send up a refrigerator for me. Sure enough, a few minutes later, there was a knock at the door, and a young man appeared with a refrigerator which he installed for me. Later that night, I realized I need a way to boil water for tea the next morning. I called the service desk, and they sent up a kettle. The next morning, at 6 am, I need a spoon. Again I called the service desk, and within minutes, they sent up a set of plasticware. When I checked out, I mentioned to the person at the desk that I was very impressed with the service and asked who it was that I had spoken with each time. I was told that it was likely Correy and Tarah. So, I would like to commend and thank Nady, Correy, and Tarah for truly excellent service!Show More
