We immediately thought of this property because of the great service we received from Sergio during a previous visit—and once again, it did not disappoint. Valet met us right away, offered help with our luggage, and quickly brought over a bellman. At check-in, I explained the situation we’d just come from and, as Globalists, asked about a possible upgrade. The front desk agent kindly offered us two options, and we chose a suite with a pull-out. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up extending our stay for an additional night. I requested the same room on the Hyatt app, and they accommodated it with no problem. We had breakfast both mornings and chose to sit outside by the pool—the perfect spot thanks to the beautiful weather. We also took advantage of the beach cruisers and rode around Santa Monica and Venice Beach. Just a small suggestion: since the streets can be a bit hilly, adding electric bikes would make exploring even easier. My husband used the gym and said it was well equipped with everything he needed. They also have a game room, that we will definitely check out next time! A standout moment was during my check-out/check-in process for the second night. The agent noticed a breakfast charge for my daughter and offered to speak with a manager about adding her to our Globalist breakfast benefit (since she’s 17), with the condition that she order from the kids’ menu. I declined, but appreciated the gesture—it was thoughtful and showed great attention to detail. This has officially become our go-to place in LA. It’s a newly refreshed property with all the amenities you’d expect from a full-service hotel, yet it still maintains a boutique feel. I stayed at the hotel years ago and had an excellent experience. Since becoming a Hyatt the hotel has undergone some renovations. The bedding, style, and overall ambiance is quite nice. However, when you look closely, they have done a quick and insufficient "update." It actually just makes things look old and dingy when you see piled up and caked on peeling paint, cabinets that are just painted plywood with exposed screws and extra crevices that are not cleaned - left to collect dust and debris which was quite disgusting. Upon check-in I was sent to a room with a dirty bathroom. The hotel moved me rooms promptly which was good. If you are looking for a laid back, nice hotel in the Santa Monica area, this is good. However, if you are expecting the attention to detail and cleanliness of a 4 star Hyatt, this hotel doesn't come close to meeting your expectations which is something to consider given the price point.Show More

When we arrived, we were told we couldn’t have the room we originally booked because the hotel had a contract with Southwest and our room had been taken. They moved us to a so-called “refurbished” room — but it was anything but. The toilet had noticeable wear and tear marks, and the shower controls were leaking constantly throughout our stay. Despite reporting it, it wasn’t fixed until the final day. To make matters worse, after checkout, the hotel tried to accuse me of damaging the TV — something I had already reported as faulty at check-in. Completely unacceptable behaviour. Breakfast was another let-down: $95 for two very small, basic breakfasts that were nowhere near worth the price. Overall, the service, maintenance, and honesty at this hotel were far below expectations for a Hyatt. For the cost, you expect professionalism and quality — we received neither. I would definitely not recommend staying here.Show More

We stay 4 nights and all the staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Especially The concierge Jimmy just made our holiday a million times better. He arrange a chauffeur to take us wherever we wanted to for the whole trip. As a Mother & Daughter, Jimmy took away our concerns about getting Ubers. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Tracy on check in desk was also so welcoming she explained where to go. All about the hotel and all the facilities offered to us. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone and I would definitely come back. Thank you Jimmy you’ve made a lasting impression on our amazing holiday.Show More
