We like the location. It is close enough to the theater district that it is still walkable, but far enough away from the Times Square Zoo, which is a tricky balance. I used to like the W Hotel because it was so close to the half price ticket booth, but just like the W, I’m getting more worn out : - O .
The Luxury Collection is overall well maintained and our room (the entry level suite) was comfortable and well proportioned, especially for the price. It includes a separate living room with closing doors diving a small bedroom area. The bathroom is well maintained (no bathtub, but not important for us, but FYI). Also, housekeeping did a nice job keeping the room refreshed.
For the Bonvoy Elites (we are lifetime Titanium for context), for our experience, we didn’t get that great of a value for the status. Our suite night upgrade rewards were not honored for a better suite. They did offer us a slightly better view than what we originally booked for the same type of room.
Also, the breakfast credit does not come close to covering our breakfast charges, and we ate quite modestly (Breakfast each day for two, including tax and automatic applied tip ran about $100+ per day). Also, just like many NYC hotels, you get hit with the junk destination fee ($40/day) which could be applied to food and beverages. However, even with that, we still ran a deficit on breakfast costs of about $30/day. I imagine this is all part of the hotel economics to keep the restaurant better utilized. You get just enough benefits to make it worthwhile to eat in the hotel restaurant instead of dining elsewhere but still have to contribute more to their revenues.
Finally, we had to call out a mistake in the bill at checkout with the Bonvoy credits. It was likely an innocent mistake, but I posted this in case this is a habitual problem. Of course, we all should be checking our bills closely.
We will (likely) return because overall it was a better than average experience in Manhattan. However, if you insist on maximum benefits for your Bonvoy status, this may not be the hotel for you.Show More
