Breakfast is a bit of a disaster because if you don't book early enough, you can't have breakfast here plus the breakfast area is too small. Even though we paid for a bed and breakfast rate on the day we booked early enough they decided we had to buy orange juice because breakfast only includes one drink which seems really odd for a five-star hotel. When I checked out they also tried to charge me for the breakfast coffees that were already included in the rate. The dining area is very pleasantly done and the decor and design are lovely. The rooms are very nicely finished. Overall a bit expensive.Show More

I would describe this hotel as good four star. Its clean its modern staff are competent etc. I would liken it to a novotel in quality. Compare that to actual 5 star. A recent ecperience involved champagne on arrival. Another the staff all memorised my name. Another had a string quartet. Luxury and thus five star means more than just a clean room with a comfortable bed. The hotel is a smidge out of the centre of town but Ubers are plentiful.Show More

This place is about a 20 min walk to the center of Christchurch. Fairly close to the large park, but views are basically over the surrounding neighborhoods. Nice rooms, very friendly service.
