We thought the location was super convenient - subway stations for most lines across Manhattan were a <5 minute walk away, and we also got to see the sunrise on the Brooklyn bridge because it was a 20...We thought the location was super convenient - subway stations for most lines across Manhattan were a <5 minute walk away, and we also got to see the sunrise on the Brooklyn bridge because it was a 20 minute walk away too. Seeing the Empire State building from the room windows was also pretty nice, even if half the view was blocked by a wall (we got the inner corner room). The staff let us check in early (by becoming a member of the hotel group services), and leave our luggage on the day of the checkout until our flight, which was greatly appreciated. Apparently you could borrow an umbrella at the reception too, but we didn't try to (simply didn't think of it). The rooms very mostly clean (some dust buildup on the bed table, but fine), and the room attendants made our bed and changed the towels daily (except the first day for some reason).Show More

Although the room (queen, city view) was on the small side, it seems that’s typical for New York. The bed was super comfy, with soft, smooth linens and nice pillows. The shower was nicely equipped and had great water pressure (4th floor). But it was really all about the restaurants, etc. We loved the Japanese restaurant and the little cafe for morning coffee and fresh baked quick breads. Pro tip, the menu at The Fix, the lobby bar, features several items from Sake No Hana, including the unbelievably delicious Spicy Tuna Tartare and the incomparable Yuzu Ramen. These dishes were so tasty we ordered them two days in a row. And the staff!! Amazing. 10/10, no notes. Special shout-out to Jenny at The Fix. She was so much fun and made killer cocktails. I literally wanted to bring her home with me to California. Also to David at the front desk, who was so sweet and wrote down our recommendation for Piacere restaurant across the street. The doormen were also universally exceptional, greeting everyone with a smile, and pointing out to us that the hotel had Ubers sitting out front to save us time on the way back to JFK. My only request would be hand soap (there was a soap dish but no soap other than the body wash in the shower?) and a small fridge for beverages—although we hacked that problem by putting bottles of water up against the cold window.Show More

We were celebrating my Mum's 60th and asked if there was any chance they could help me decorate the room for our arrival, to which they did and so beautifully too. I ordered balloons remotely to be delivered and they also kindly added those to the room. I later found out it was Daniel who took so much care and attention to the writing on the mirrors and really went further than just 'happy birthday'. I cannot thank them enough for making our trip special. Every member of staff, from the front door and desk to behind the bar were wonderful. Shout out to the bar man who got me Diet Coke as he was half British and understood my tiredness of going across the pond. Although the rooms aren't overly big, everything is designed wonderfully. Sadly I didn't get chance to visit all the bars the hotel has on offer so I'll have to come back one day ;). We'd never stayed downtown before and the area was great and close enough to what we needed. Subway literally around the corner. The only downside which is more a note for Marriott than Moxy LES, is we couldn't stream on the TV. The server wouldn't work. We were told we needed a chrome cast but the technician actually never came back. Not to stress though, we had Netflix! Thanks, Moxy LES! Loved you.Show More

I like it much better than even other Moxy options in town. Restaurant and rooftop bar in the hotel are awesome (Tao group) and location is great, especially with proximity to SoHo and LES. Rooms are tight and there’s a nightclub in the hotel that you can hear some, but that’s NY! What got me to leave a review was the awesome staff. From the front desk to the restaurant and bar staff, everyone had a really high level of service - way higher than I would expect or have experienced at other Moxy hotels. I showed up later in the night and the restaurant accommodated a very last minute to-go order, and the bartender hosted me while I waited on the order. Check-in was super quick and friendly. Alex at the door was incredible and made the place feel like home while I was there. I have stayed in at least 25 hotels throughout the city in all different price ranges, and we all know NY doormen are the best. But Alex was truly top notch and made my three night stay so much more enjoyable. He’s got the classic NY energy and treated everyone like they lived in the building. Will be returning!Show More
