The Bowen School basketball team — an all-Black team — was repeatedly harassed throu...Our experience at Northfield Inn & Suites during our basketball team’s stay was unacceptable and deeply troubling. The Bowen School basketball team — an all-Black team — was repeatedly harassed throughout our stay with baseless noise complaints, while other teams on the same floor were not treated the same way. According to our coach, he received multiple calls from front desk staff members identified as Jessica and Kavaris, accusing the boys of “stomping all night.” At 9:53 PM, the boys provided photo evidence proving they were outside, not in their rooms. Despite this proof, the calls continued. There were three basketball teams staying on the same floor. However, Bowen School was the only team consistently targeted. The most disturbing incident occurred after 11:00 PM, when a staff member knocked on the boys’ door and told them to be quiet — while they were asleep. Meanwhile, one of our students recorded video evidence of a group of white boys running through the hallway, banging on doors, causing the actual disturbance. This video was taken directly to the front desk as proof. Despite clear evidence: • No apology was given • No reprimand was issued to the team actually responsible • Bowen School continued to be treated as the problem This pattern of behavior strongly suggests racially biased enforcement and a failure to follow fair, consistent protocols. We are requesting: 1. A full refund for our stay 2. A personal phone call from management explaining how this was allowed to happen 3. A clear outline of what procedures will be implemented to ensure no other group — especially children — experiences this type of discriminatory treatment in the future These were student-athletes who deserved safety, rest, and respect. What they received instead was harassment, intimidation, and silence. Until accountability is taken, we do not recommend this hotel to schools, teams, or families.Show More

This was a room that wasnt cleaned. That room should have been clean and sanitized BEFORE we were even given keys to enter the room. The staff wasnt any help at all. Their attitude was more of too bad. So sad, we have your money now. Instead of them attempting to make things right, they had an attitude of not caring less. We checked out a day earlier because of the nasty room and poor customer service that we recieved. And we'll never stay here or recommend anyone to this property. Beware. For the room, It looks clean walking in, but behind the bed and along each edge of bed and the room was covered in crumbs and dead bugs. There was not a single inch of clean floor space behind the bed, there were lots of fake rose petals, a lighter, glow stick, ponytail, so many crumbs and dead bugs, a button battery and who knows what else I couldn’t see. A cookie was squished into the cords around the bed. The bathroom door was really gross and needed washed especially being a highly touched area after people use the restroom. Show More

She is a special kind of lady who I’m glad we got to meet and stay at the hotel . We will be back again anytime in the area . Thank you for the hospitality. The rooms was above and beyond .
