We booked an ocean view suite, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. While we did have a small hiccup (we got briefly stuck in the elevator), the way the team handled it turned what could have been stressful into a memory we now laugh about. They went above and beyond to look after us, and their genuine care really stood out. The pool is as charming as it looks in photos and perfect for lounging. The food was exceptional as well, some of the freshest produce we’ve ever had at a hotel. From room service to poolside dining, everything felt thoughtful and high quality. A special thanks to Kezai Jones, the Director of Front of House, who made sure every detail of our stay was smooth and celebratory. We’d also like to recognize Erick at the front desk and the amazing pool and room service staff who were warm, attentive, and professional. The housekeeping and cleanliness was A+ as well. My partner’s birthday celebration couldn’t have been more memorable, and we’re so grateful to the team at Oceana for making it so special. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for luxury, comfort, and truly outstanding service in Santa Monica.Show More

The e...As part of an extended business trip to Southern California, we spent a Sunday evening at the Oceana in Santa Monica. It was our first time at the hotel. We hope that we will return again soon. The entire staff was helpful before, during and after our stay. Before we arrived, the team communicated with us. They helped me with an overnight order and they even helped us arrange morning yoga at the property. During the stay, everyone was exceptional. I am sorry that I am not leaving more names. The valet and front desk were exceptional. The restaurant staff were great. Even housekeeping went above and beyond. Nestor, Julian and Angie were some of the memorable staff. People stepped up and helped each other. Oh, and the property and the rooms were exceptional. It's not cheap, but it was worth it for a special night. One more compliment- after we left, I ordered something that I meant to send home. I forgot to change the date and the package was sent to the hotel. The front desk supervisor Laura N called us, and then arranged the return for us. Even notifying us was helpful, because I needed the supplies that weekend, but going beyond was appreciated by me and my partner.Show More

I didn't even get a ...After reading all the glowing reviews, I have been eyeing this hotel for years and am actually disappointed. I am Hilton Lifetime Diamond and was celebrating a milestone birthday. I didn't even get a "happy birthday". Arrived at 3:00 and had to wait for a room. Front desk offered bottled water and we sat in the lobby. Room was supposedly an upgrade but looked to be the same size as what I booked and I was ok with that except they had a throw rug on top of the regular rug and it was a serious tripping hazard. Hotel sent a few people up to try to fix it but it just wouldn't stay flat and I really didn't want to wind up tripping and winding up in the hospital. I was hoping they would just remove the throw rug. So, had to wait another 1/2 hr or so for another room. Normally it wouldn't be a huge deal but I had a 12 hour travel day and I was exhausted. New room was nice but oddly configured and there was a faux half wall behind the bed separating the bedroom from the living space and the space was narrow with a sharp corner. There are no nightstand lights. The switches control all the lights. And the light switch is by the door. I am a professional event planner and based on what I personally experienced compared to the hundreds of hotels I have toured and stayed at over the years, I can't recommend this hotel to friends or colleagues. Whoever designed this hotel really didn't put enough thought into functionality. Just lacking in so many ways. I had to practically beg for someone to take an order for food and beverage and it was pricy. Food was decent but dinner was not worth $300+.Show More

While indeed the property was beautiful however there are no handicapped accessibility’s. I phoned the property several times to be sure it could accommodate our 23 year old daughter I. I phoned the property several times to be sure it could accommodate our 23 year old daughter I. Wheelchair. Her only way in and out of hotel was elevator thru basement parking garage in basement and the incline was so steep she couldn’t even propel herself. Also upon checking while all pre booked and quoted the final price we were charged an additional $2300.00. We stayed a week. I do realize the property was being remodeled however had they told me we would have looked elsewhere. And there was the morning at 11:00 and we were trapped on 3rd floors more than 3 hours with no way to get our daughter down as they were repairing the one elevator. Oh but during the elevator repair wait they did send food for us at no charge but we were trapped and if a fire had came we were trapped so for this reason alone putting our daughters life at risk for a week without any handicap ramps or entryways absolutely horrid and should be illegal. my rating is not good! Not handicap friendly and they don’t say the truth upon booking as I called them several times before I booked. The room also was absolutely not soundproof the first two morning we were waken next to our room construction at 7:00 am.for over ten thousand dollars this was definitely not what we were looking for. It took us 2 days to drive for this disappointment and they even charged vallet for such substandard handicap parking Show More
