We would have given this great hotel 5 stars instead of 4, but the 5 comes only if you pay more for the larger room, which makes the entire experience absolutely superb; otherwise , the smaller room i...We would have given this great hotel 5 stars instead of 4, but the 5 comes only if you pay more for the larger room, which makes the entire experience absolutely superb; otherwise , the smaller room is really small- it may be ok for one person but for two people, it’s a stretch. If small size of the room isn’t an issue for you ,then the hotel rates 5 out of 5.
What to know about the East 28th street hotel location:: this hotel is in a very real area of New York- not your typical sleek and manicured tourist area . Area is known as Murray Hill, and Kips Bay is there, too.Lots of residential buildings- both high end and otherwise ; It continues to be an up and coming area- there’s a Whole Foods within walking distance, lots of Indian restaurants and Korean ones nearby, fruit stands on the street , the subway is down the block from the hotel, with a street vendor there during the week who has the best prices for baseball caps, faux Pashmina scarves, etc. Walking distance to NYU Langone, etc..
The hotel is just the right size- eight stories with a hopping rooftop bar during the summer. Complimentary coffee and tea off the lobby in the morning , with option of ordering breakfast there, too ( but the superb bagel shop next door has it all, too).; wine in the afternoon in the lobby. Excellent doormen and front desk staff. Niti at front desk is outstanding - a shoutout to her in particular!
Security is excellent,hotel is on the older side , rooms are immaculate., and up to date .
Small enough so you wont wait forever to check in. We got the bigger room this time, and it made all the difference in the world- it was spacious and now we know that we will always want to stay here. This hotel is pricey, but what isn’t in NYC when it comes to a safe and clean hotel?
In short, we love this hotel for its personalized experience, its immaculately clean rooms,as well as for the real feel of the area.Show More
