Having just stayed in 12 luxury hotels (Bel Air, Peninsula Beverly Hills, Four Seasons Palm beach, Faena Miami beach, Waldorf Astoria Park city, W Aspen, St. Regis San Francisco, Waldorf Astoria Vegas...Having just stayed in 12 luxury hotels (Bel Air, Peninsula Beverly Hills, Four Seasons Palm beach, Faena Miami beach, Waldorf Astoria Park city, W Aspen, St. Regis San Francisco, Waldorf Astoria Vegas, etc) around the USA, I have a fresh feel to review these hotels with great comparisons.
Having just stayed at both the Bel Air and the Peninsula, which I consider the two best hotels in LA, the top pick really depends on your preferences.
This hotel has a great location, with in walking distance to Rodeo Drive etc. Bel Air is super secluded, but offers the best privacy in LA. But in my opinion, you do get enough privacy here too.
The service here was excellent, literally nothing in terms of service could have been better, even considering the sky high expectations. The staff at the lobby new our names even before we provided our IDs. They were so full of joy and welcomed us so warmly, that it almost felt like coming home, even tho it was our first time at the hotel.
The lugagge were taken from the car without usbeven noticing and delivered to the room. The valet even asked if we wanted the backsests back up, no other hotel has ever asked that!
We were upgraded to a huge suite for our stay. The pillows had our initials. The welcome amenity and champagne was excellent.
The bed was first class, soft and silky linen.
The pool area is beutiful and very relaxing. Its nicely small, so it does not turn into a resort feel, but remains quiet and intimate. Service over there was also very anticipating. The pool area never got crowded either. Even tho the pool and pool area is bigger at Bel Air, it felt more like a family resort as there were many kids playing and jumping. Peninsula pool felt more higher end for that reason.
The only downside is that the valet and front yard can get very crowded as many people come for a tea time on weekends. As we checked out, we waited for our car for 25 minutes atleast. Also the service at breakfast felt a bit cold, a huge difference to the rest of the staff.
All in all, I would definitely visit again!Show More
