I paid $75 for valet parking, which the hotel proudly advertises as including a “friendly valet to greet you.” There was no one there. There was nowhere to park out front, so I had to circle the block twice. I called the hotel, waited over 15 minutes on hold, and was finally told to “just park at the gate and bring your keys in.” That’s not valet service — that’s disorganisation at its worst.
Meanwhile, my daughter was at the front desk confirming that the room had been paid for (as my children had organised it as a gift) and that a bottle of champagne was waiting for me. The young woman at the counter responded to her with a snappy, dismissive tone, saying “like I said” — and then repeated, “like I just said.” Completely unprofessional and unnecessarily rude, especially given the occasion.
Upstairs, I’d booked the rooftop bar for a group of 20 guests weeks in advance. There was no greeting, no direction, and no sense of organisation. When we finally found our table, we were seated in a corner with no rooftop view at all.
When I tried to order drinks, the bar staff were rude and uninterested, and it took ages before we were given wristbands to even place orders. The DJ refused to take song requests, even though the place wasn’t busy — and when another group (not with us) complained about the music too, he still wouldn’t budge.
There was no atmosphere, no warmth, and no sign of the “vibrant” experience QT promises.
When I checked out the next morning, I raised all of this with reception. They refunded the valet fee and said they’d report it to the general manager and follow up with me. No one ever did. I called again the following Friday, was told someone would contact me — and still nothing.
For a hotel that prides itself on style and service, QT Perth delivered neither. My 60th birthday was ruined, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.Show More
