It was our third time at this pretty hotel and I’ll come back whenever I visit Athens. For family-size rooms I recommend Room 816 with two Queen beds sleeping a total of four guests. Most of the 8th Floor rooms with balconies have a view of the Parthenon and Karaiskaki Square below. The Metro is almost at the front door; we reached the Acropolis Metro station "Akropoli" in 15 minutes. We love the staff, always helpful, positive, and dedicated to customer happiness. Konstantina, the Front Desk Supervisor, gave us special help and understood our situation very well. Kleopátra (Kleio) at Cloud Nine restaurant is so friendly and charming; she remembers us from stay to stay! Kleio even worked with the chef to have wild greens from Crete, “Horta Vrasta (Χόρτα βραστά),” made just for us (not on the menus). If you’ve been missing deep green veggies, ask her to request it a day or two in advance. The restaurants are excellent. Cloud 9 is the Rooftop lunch and dinner restaurant, with beautiful outdoor and indoor areas and great food. Many tables have Parthenon view. Sweet Basil has a breakfast buffet fit for royalty. The wide variety and high quality of breakfast foods is at the Five Star level. It also has an outdoor patio with Parthenon view. The pool and outside deck are brand new, very pretty and relaxing on a sunny day, great service too. Wisely, the hotel does not allow day passes; only hotel guests may use the pool. Otherwise half of Athens would be there. Cleanliness is very good all around the hotel. The laundry service, which I’ve used on all three of our stays, is careful, prompt, and inexpensive. The Stanley is an oasis in an older neighborhood - otherwise it would be twice as expensive. After dark we ate at The Stanley's restaurants, or stayed downtown in the "Center" and took a cab back. No problem as long as we stayed aware, just like New York.show more

I also appreciated that all staff members, including the cleaning team, spoke English well, which made communication smooth and stress-free. The hotel and rooms were very clean, and the same goes for the pool, which was both beautiful and well maintained. The accommodations were modern and comfortable, with good air conditioning, which kept the room pleasant even during warmer days. One of the highlights is the hotel’s central location, making it easy to explore Athens. There was also visible and alert security, which added a reassuring sense of safety. There are a few areas that could be improved. The breakfast selection was limited, and the rooftop restaurant, although visually stunning with a beautiful setting, did not fully live up to its price. The overall atmosphere was luxurious, but the food was average. I also noticed some design flaws in the room. For example, there were lights installed directly above the bed, and when sitting upright, the lamp would press uncomfortably into the back of your neck, which wasn’t ideal. Additionally, if you’re staying on a higher floor, the balcony can feel a bit unsafe. The floor slightly slopes downward, and the only barrier is a simple railing, which may not feel secure to everyone. Despite these minor issues, The Stanley Hotel offers a clean, comfortable, and well-located stay in Athens with excellent service, friendly staff, and good facilities. I would recommend it, especially for city trips or short stays.show more

The area felt very inviting and friendly. The poolside area is a busy place so you can expect to wait for a poolside lounge. We stayed in a refurbished one bedroom and it included a sofa bed for our adult children. The room was nice and comfortable big enough to accommodate us all. We were situated on level 2, the view was nothing spectacular but the room wasn’t noisy considering it was close to street level. The hotel staff as always were friendly and accommodating. The late checkout was appreciated and the complementary mini bar was a great surprise. The pool and wait staff went above and beyond, always smiling and enjoying their work in the extreme heat. If you are looking for a coffee or a drink directly outside of the hotel, there is a nice place opposite the entrance to the hotel. There is a family run tavern close to the hotel called Typografos, also close to the hotel is a small shop for gifts called Greek Thing. The only negative is that area around the hotel has seen better days and due to the holiday season the hotel was priced at the higher end. The hotel is located on the subway line so getting to all areas of Athens is very easy. Getting a Uber was not a problem and there is always a taxi waiting outside the hotel. The Stanley is a convenient and comfortable place to stay in Athens.show more

Whether I was enjoying a refreshing swim, sipping on a perfectly crafted cocktail, or lounging with music in the background, every moment felt luxurious and relaxing. The service was exceptional and warm, professional, and genuinely attentive without ever feeling intrusive. The staff went above and beyond to ensure I felt welcomed and comfortable throughout my stay. A special thank you to Katerina, the wonderful supervisor who ensured the rooftop pool service ran like clockwork. Her presence was both professional and warm — always attentive, approachable, and ready with a kind smile. It’s clear that she takes great pride in her work, and it shows in the smooth, relaxing atmosphere she helps create on the rooftop. Guests are truly in excellent hands with her at the helm! The rooms are clean and quiet, If you're looking for a hotel that offers both the vibrant pulse of the city and a serene escape above it all, this is the place. I can’t wait to return!
