When we arrived, we didn’t have a reservation and asked the front desk abo...I stayed at the W Hotel Los Angeles on April 20, 2025, and had one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. When we arrived, we didn’t have a reservation and asked the front desk about availability and rates. After being told the price, I mentioned that I could see a lower rate online at the Marriott App. The front desk employee — in the presence of the manager — suggested that we book the first room online and show him the rate, and he promised that the second room booked directly with the hotel would be charged at the same price. We followed his exact instructions, trusting the hotel’s word. However, at check-out, when I asked for a zero-balance receipt, I noticed that the second room had been charged at a higher rate. I immediately raised the issue, but the front desk agent said he couldn’t help. When I asked to speak with the same manager who witnessed the agreement, he admitted he remembered everything — but still said he couldn’t do anything because the employee who gave us the rate wasn’t there that day. Frankly, I found that response shocking and unacceptable. The suggestion came from their own staff, and we acted in good faith. The manager’s refusal to take responsibility showed a lack of professionalism and integrity. I later contacted Marriott Customer Care and opened a claim, but despite following up several times, I received a negative response and no real resolution. This is not about the amount of money — it’s about honesty and respect for guests. I have always trusted Marriott for its service standards, but this experience completely changed my view. The way both the staff and the manager handled the situation was dishonest and disappointing. I cannot recommend this hotel and sincerely hope Marriott reviews this incident to ensure other guests are treated fairly in the future.Show More

We just completed our third stay an...If you are searching for a hotel near UCLA, Westwood, Beverly Hills or Hollywood- stop right here and book! This is truly our favorite LA hotel for so many reasons. We just completed our third stay and already have our fourth and fifth booked. Here’s a list of highlights: 1- the people are all the friendliest and most thoughtful customer service people we’ve encountered (even compared to the Fairmont and other five star hotels) 2- A basic room is extremely large and offers a separate bedroom with door, living room with desk/dining table and refrigerator/bar area (and very comfy beds with quality, smooth sheets). The suites are amazing!! 3- Lounge areas- there are several very nice areas to hang out with friends or family without feeling like you are in the main lobby area. There is also a brand new lounge area that was just added as part of the front entrance remodel. It is SO cool!! My designer wife loved hanging out in there the most- the colors, furniture and lighting are really awesome. 4- Beachhouse restaurant- this can’t be emphasized enough. We are NOT a hotel restaurant kind of couple, yet we ate dinner at the onsite restaurant 2 out of 3 nights as the food was phenomenal. It’s an upscale Tex Mex kind of menu with really interesting dishes. It also has things like oysters on the half shell. Highly recommend the nachos! There is also a really nice upscale 2nd bar on the other side of the hotel with tons of seating. 5- Great housekeeping. Shout out to Lidya!! Some other things to note: This hotel hands out free bottled water like you wish all hotels would do -but don’t. Valet guys are really great. You will not be waiting to get parked or retrieve your car. The hotel has concierge (which we didn’t need). The location for anyone going to UCLA or Westwood can’t be beat, but it is also very central for going to Hollywood, Santa Monica, Venice, etc. without having to be around those crowds all the time. (It took us 13 min to drive to SM.) The pool area is very nice although we didn’t use it during our stay. It is private and has very nice loungers and cabanas if you are into that. The hotel is very kid and pet friendly. They have nice dog treats and one day they were making root beer floats in the lobby for guests. We will absolutely return to this hotel every time we come to LA.Show More

The check in experience was amazing, I talked to Brewer and he is fantastic. He made me feel very welcome, got me extra water bottles, truffles, a handwritten card and even upgraded me to a suite on the highest floor. He was very sorry that all food options were closed inside the hotel (I haven't planned using this so no problem for me) but hotel staff has prepared some flyers with nearby locations for breakfast and dinner which was really appreciated. The suite was fantastic, it was very large, everything in there what I needed. Separate living room with fridge and more free water. Bed was really comfortable and I loved the wireless phone charger and that their alarm clock was also a bluetooth box which could be connected to my phone. Bathroom also spacious, the water pressure in the shower was incredible, even in the 15th floor - it felt like a massage. Whole suite clean and quiet. I also loved the little details like changing the footmat in the elevator from saying "good morning" to "good afternoon" or "good evening." The invoice was sent on the last day via mail which makes check out really quick - just leave the key card in the box and that's it. Location is also great - LA is a big city and of course you need some time to get to whatever you want to do but hotel is in a safe area and in the middle between Santa Monica and Hollywood which was very convenient for me. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would choose it again.Show More

Sales manager Brandon Henderson was always responsive and available and worked with his highly agreeable and enthusiastic staff to ensure that we would have a comfortable and entirely pleasurable stay. The entire staff, including Brandon, manager Brewer, Britlynne, Joe and DJ, to name a few, treated us so nicely. The hotel itself is beautiful and the poolside area is so comfortable. The rooms were spacious and well appointed, and our room had a beyond beautiful view of West LA. So many of our guests enjoyed dining outside, and they all found the food to be delicious. Poolside service for food and drinks was super easy. All staff members were extremely friendly. We did learn of some wedding attendees having trouble securing rooms not only for rooms in the room block, but for rooms before and after the room block time. Two attendees left items either by the pool or in the room after checkout, and both times these items were identified and returned promptly to the owners. Everyone loved the location of the hotel as they were able to enjoy dining at the many restaurants within walking distance in Westwood Village, as well as walking through the beautiful UCLA campus and botanical gardens. We certainly view the W hotel is our home away from home when in West LA, and we know that so many of our wedding attendees felt likewise as positively about their experience.Show More
