Th...I have been to Rome at least 30 times and have stayed pretty much all over. The last few years we have enjoyed this neighborhood. Less crowded, and easy walks to nearby Spanish Steps and beyond. This was our first time at W Rome. We have stayed at the St. Regis and the Excelsior in this neighborhood on prior visits. OK, here is the lowdown: although the W was remodeled fairly recently that just gets them so far. The rooms are quirky: ours was a corner room on a high floor which is great in the daytime, but the lighting in the room at night was very poor. Not even lamps on the bed stands or well-positioned in the ceiling to be able to read in bed. Even the minibar was not lighted, is a dark niche. How hard would it have been to put a down light over that space? In our room the shower had a frosted glass wall between the bath and the bedroom, so if your companion gets up before you to shower, the entire bedroom is ablaze with light. The shower door leaked onto the floor. And the door has no threshold, very close to the floor, so I think I broke my little toe when the shower door passed over my foot one morning. The buffet breakfast is dreadful. Very cramped space, dead end space, with many steps up and down between buffet and the tables. Although there are menu options which were fine, the self service buffet was very disappointing: none of the baked goods looked homemade as represented. Rather like things that are bulk packaged at Costco. Not a single dolce was worth the calories. But all being said, Roma is my very favorite city in the world!Show More

The hotel itself is stunning, stylish, vibrant, and impeccably maintained, but what truly made our stay exceptional was the outstanding level of service from the entire team, particularly the concierge staff. Every interaction felt personal and thoughtful. The concierge team consistently went above and beyond, assisting us with reservations, insightful local recommendations, and even last minute adjustments. Their professionalism, warmth, and genuine care made a lasting impression. They clearly love what they do and it shows. We want to give a special thank you to Alessio, the Welcome Ambassador, whose hospitality was truly extraordinary. From the first moment Alessio made us feel completely at home. His attention to detail, sincere kindness, and positive energy elevated our entire experience. He was always ready with a smile, helpful tips, or simply a kind word. His personal touch is something we will not forget. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Francesca Minerva, the Whatever Whenever Agent, for her thoughtfulness and for surprising us with a beautiful upgrade. It was a lovely recognition of our Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite status and made our stay even more memorable. This is a team that truly understands hospitality at its finest. What an amazing 4 nights stay to kick off 3 weeks in Italy. I’m titanium with Marriott so got an upgrade to a suite, which helped make for an amazing experience but everything about this hotel was amazing. In the room: you get an extremely comfortable bed with ample pillows and excellent climate control if you like a cold sleep as I do. The rain shower feels amazing as do the marble floors throughout. The Aqua di Parma bath products are a nice treat. Staff are above and beyond, always there to open the doors and welcome you home. Also very accommodating for guests arriving early, which is common from the USA. I was able to use the AMAZING full gym while my room was prepared and I heard other guests doing similar while we were there. Breakfast room is a glorious garden venue to start your day, the service is attentive and the food is great. It was free with my booking but it’s not cheap, I think 45 euro a day. If I was paying I might only use that on days when I could take my time and enjoy. Otherwise grab a coffee and brioche somewhere nearby. The pizza on the rooftop deck is amazing and some of the best I’ve had, try it!!Show More
