While the location is super convenient—lot's of restaurants, markets, and eateries within easy walking distance—the staff are what make this hotel great. We spoke with Grey throughout the booking process. She was very personable and easy to take to. They helped us to book a car service to and from JFK and answered any and all questions that we had about the rooms. When we arrived, everyone at the front desk was very cordial. Special thanks to the technicians and maintenance folks at the Walker. We wanted to plug in our Firestick into the back of the TV but were having some issues. They quickly responded, sent technicians, and within a short amount of time we had things up and running. The hotel is really cute. While it's a new building, whoever designed it did a good job of capturing that old-time New York feel. Great atmosphere, too. People were very chill, just chatting in the lobby, having a drink, or listening to music. If I ever come back to NYC, I would definitely stay here again. I'd probably get a slightly larger room. We booked the Bedford Double, which was fine, but a little tight for two adults. A suite would have probably given us a little more space to work with. Not a deal breaker, though. I do have to say that the room had absolutely amazing views of NYC. We could see the Freedom Tower lights at nigh time and it was really magical. Thanks for making our first time stay in NYC great!Show More

The room smelled strongly of mold the moment I walked in, and when I turned on the heating, an even worse burning smell filled the space. The lighting in the room was extremely poor, with almost no natural light coming through, making it feel dark and depressing. The overall cleanliness of the room was far from ideal. The thick brown carpet was visibly not clean, and below the nightstands, where the electrical plugs were, there was a thick layer of dust that clearly hadn’t been touched in ages. The whole space felt neglected and unhygienic. I went down to the front desk immediately to ask if another room was available, but before I could even finish explaining, the receptionist quickly said they were at full capacity for the night—clearly not interested in helping. Between the horrible smells, the lack of lighting, the dirty carpet, the dust, and the general state of disrepair, this hotel was a complete disappointment. I would not recommend it to anyone.Show More

Firstly the location is great, lots of bars, restaurants etc in the neighbourhood. Considering it’s off 6th avenue it was fairly quiet (at least by NYC standards). Inside, the hotel has a relaxed atmosphere and the decor is great. The public areas are very clean and well maintained. My room was very clean and the bed really comfy. What makes this hotel stand out though is the staff, everyone of them from the knowledgeable and friendly front desk to housekeeping were great and nothing was too much trouble. Finally I’d like to say a big thank you to Lauren the hotel manager- she went out of her way to make my stay very special for which I am very grateful and you should be proud of the hotel and staff. I would highly recommend this hotel.Show More
