One of the worst experiences that I’ve ever had at a hotel. I actually changed my reservation at another hotel to be close to my seminar for 7 nights and I regretted it. The room smelled awful like it...One of the worst experiences that I’ve ever had at a hotel. I actually changed my reservation at another hotel to be close to my seminar for 7 nights and I regretted it. The room smelled awful like it was just fumigated and there was a room with a loud electric motor next to my room that made sleeping very difficult. On top of all that, the bed was so horrible that my back was hurting to the point that pain meds did not work. When I called the front desk to ask if anything could be done, the person at the front desk said he would check and call back, but he never did. I called the front desk again after a couple of hours and he said there is nothing they can do. My back pain got to the point that I couldn’t sit or concentrate at the seminar for which I had paid so much. Finally I went to the front desk during a break and asked to be moved to another room. This time the lady at the front desk informed me that all beds are the same in the hotel. But when I insisted and the manager let me move to another room, the bed was much different and better, so the front desk person actually lied to keep me from moving to another room. By this time, I was in so much pain that I could hardly walk. At the last day of my stay, a cleaner had left a dirty rag on the counter of the kitchen. Not a hotel that I could recommend with a clear conscious to anyone. From the front desk people who constantly tried not to help me, to the stinky room, to the loud and noisy electrical motor next to the room, to the horrible bed, and not wanting to touch a dirty rag left by the cleaning staff. All in all it was a nightmare and I would give two negative one stars if I could. So no, I didn’t have a good experience at the Executive Hotel Vancouver.Show More

This means...The following items need repair and should probably be added to your routine room inspections: Room 304. The jets on the jet tub emitted black matter when turned on after drawing a bath. This means it was not cleaned properly. The shampoo / conditioner / soap dispensers were not secured (locked) so anyone could add whatever (potentially gross matter) to them. The conditioner was gross on the serving nozzle (black gross build up, rarely / never cleaned) and when I opened it, it was visibly disgusting and blue/green in colour on the lid inside / touching the typically white conditioner. The bathroom fan bearings are failing and it sounds like you're turning on a grinder when operating the fan. The fridge sounds like it is a high voltage power panel when running and then when it finishes a compression cycle it clunks off and isn't good for sleeping. I did end up stuck in the hydrologic elevator. This is an ongoing thing and likely better limits on people or a replacement is required. Oh and the emergency call in the elevator used a phone line that was broken and it didn't actually call out for help. So that is super serious and should be fixed. Otherwise, the room was very nicely cleaned. The staff were all wonderful and everything was otherwise great!Show More

The bed was very comfortable and relaxing, there was also a number of places that were walking distance to get to. The downside was that we booked a room with a jacuzzi tub and once we had it filled up.. we were only able to enjoy it for about 5 minutes until the plug (which was too small) slowly emptied the tub causing it to not go to any use, unless we chose to keep the water running the entire time which we chose not to. The staff helped out the next morning by giving us a small deal as an apology which was appreciated.Show More
