We were considering a score of 4 bu...We booked this hotel based on good reviews and seeking to avoid Lloret de Mar. At just under £1000 for 6 nights for the three of us, half board, it was a good deal. We were considering a score of 4 but have downgrade to 3 upon final review. The hotel overall is a nice family hotel sited away from but not far from the beach. We experienced undisturbed sleep. We enjoyed the bar where service was first class. The evening entertainment was good though perhaps too many guitarist acts over just a 4 day period. A nice touch was the restricted access pass system for the luggage room - it would be nice to see that in other hotels. The room was adequate for two adults and our thirteen year old. And the cleaning service was good. The rooms were a little dated but everything worked except the air conditioning failed over the course of the last few days. We reported it to reception and seemingly the maintenance people looked at it but it remained just a fan blower rather than an air conditioning unit. There was also a loose power socket adjacent to the TV - not a problem for us but we would have been concerned had there been younger children in our party. The bathroom lacked space to store our toiletries (just a minor point really). We tried the indoor pool which was free and very nice indeed. The outdoor facilities were fine except the hot tub appeared to keep the lifeguard busy managing it owing to its over popularity. Tossa was great. The castle in particular. However we felt a little captive and ended up taking a bus from the bus station to Lloret. Getting further afield would surely require a hire car from Tossa. Food. We staid half board. At times it was a struggle finding anything to shout about. On some days we found some enjoyable options but others not so though we were always able to fall back on the cold meats, cheeses and salads. Breakfasts were okay with eggs and “Spanish” bacon cooked to order. We came to the conclusion that the food options were targeting continental clients and the French in particular. On our last evening there were burgers (pork) on offer and to our dismay they were grossly underdone - we were surprised to say the least. It is 3/5 from us.Show More

An hour from Barcelona airport this hotel is fantastic!! A fifteen minute walk into town or you can walk around the coastal path. Shop owners were lovely & one lady spoke great English & couldn’t help...An hour from Barcelona airport this hotel is fantastic!! A fifteen minute walk into town or you can walk around the coastal path. Shop owners were lovely & one lady spoke great English & couldn’t help enough!! Staff are wonderful & friendly, drinks at the bar are cheap & you can even get coffee. The hotel is absolutely spotless & cleaners are around for most of the day. Food is good & the choice is varied with something for everyone even for the pickiest eaters. We did bed & breakfast but had the option of purchasing a lunch or dinner - we had dinner one night & again, there was a very varied choice & the puddings were light & delicious. Poolside was lovely & the Spa consisted of a hot tub, steam room & showers. You can book things in advance like a massage but this is a paid extra. The only downside was that the mattresses are quite solid & after a week we were ready for our own beds. Cleaners start early in a morning & if you are out in a room opposite the cleaners storage room, then you will hear them banging the door shut which is actually quite annoying at 6am in a morning. These couple of issues however have not stopped us booking for next year!! We had a great week at the hotel - thank you 😊 See you next year!!Show More

The hotel itself was clean - the “gym” could probably benefit from some decent equipment and instructions! The room was fit for purpose and cleaned regularly. We went half board, and whilst most of the food was good, the dining room in the evening was quite chaotic. You are shown to a table, on which you place your room card (this is vital), and then it’s every man for himself ! The staff were very efficient, although not always friendly, but some of the guests were really rude, and didn’t understand the concept of a queuing system. I stayed in a GHT hotel last year in Tossa de mar, which was nicer, in my opinion. There was no issue with people putting towels on sunbeds, as there were plenty to go round. Don’t believe all the really bad reviews - it wasn’t an unpleasant experience.Show More
