The things I expect of a Novotel are sheets that are not scratchy, more than 1 towel each for an overnighter, particularly where there is a pool, and friendly service for Gold status members who also have paid Accor membership. You definitely get none of those at the Novotel at South Brisbane. If you ask for a later check out to 12 noon it’s an automatic and emphatic NO. I, therefore, had to check out and sit down at the Bar area trying to do some work while my husband attended a meeting elsewhere. I tried to order something to eat after 11 am from the Bar Menu but was told the onlything I could get was a drink. I ordered a lemonade / Sprite but got a soda water with a piece of lemon? There are no cafes close by / across the road so you have no choice and have to hike over the South Bank so you would think the Bar Menu would start earlier or you could at least get a toasted sandwich or something the Bar staff could handle. There is not enough parking. Never had that problem at the Sofitel in Brisbane or the Pullman, both of which are in the City. With this Hotel you have to Park over at the Convention Centre. The staff couldn’t have been more unpleasant and unhelpful if they tried.Show More
