On arriving, after my partner had already check in, I was told that the room has a double bed (marital bed in Italian). It’s discriminatory to have to explain to the staff that we are a (gay) couple, ...On arriving, after my partner had already check in, I was told that the room has a double bed (marital bed in Italian). It’s discriminatory to have to explain to the staff that we are a (gay) couple, as a straight couple would have never had to. This is just shameful in this day and age and in such a popular destination! Also most rooms are next to the reception or the very noisy front door and therefore not quiet. Our room was very dark and hot, though nicely appointed. Breakfast was great and the breakfast staff fantastic, but all tables are weirdly set back, When the could be placed to the front of the room to face the Grand Canal. The approach to the hotel through the smallest lane is not brilliant.Show More
