Bebe helped me with my bags and an older gentleman helped me check out on the kiosk. I didn't need it but he offered and helped anyway! I ran out of room in the didn't like section so continuing here...I worked at a Luxury Hotel Spa in Old Town Alexandria years ago, I know how things work in a hotel so I often give grace to front desk, lobby and cleaning staff. DEWAN was very rude and demeaning to guest as well as other employees. Yelling on the radio in the middle of me checking in when no one was calling for her she just starts yelling out what guest need. I told her its ok be patient with them and that I was in no rush so handle her business, she was still very rude. It's embarrassing as a woman of color to see someone act in such a deplorable manner at their work. You should be respectful, exercise patience and never under ANY circumstances raise her voice. What's even scarier is that everyone around her must be used to it as they seemed unbothered by her demeanor. Guest in the restaurant would hear her during my interactions with her as well as when I would walk by and she was yelling at someone else. Even during my checkout she was yelling to a guest YALL DON'T LISTEN. Yotel has to do better with their hiring process and if someone doesn't show their inability to handle the stress of the position during the interview process there are evaluations, reviews and retraining that can take place. The room was GREAT but I will NEVER stay here EVER again!show more

Everything was fine in my room. Nothing particularly nice, and the lights were a pain in my room (one still doesn't work) but it's in a good location and the price is decent. I could even live without an in room coffee pot until this morning when I realized there's NO coffee in the hotel. Don't trust the past comments about hallway coffee stations (which I would have been fine with), because as I went walking around the hotel at 515 with my travel mug I finally found out from the front desk clerk that they stopped providing coffee stations this summer, nearby coffee shops don't open until 6 and the hotel restaurant doesn't serve until 730. I went through the hotel page to make sure I wasn't missing something and nope, if it's on the site it's buried somewhere. As a hotel in the US that's something that needs to be a major bullet in the FAQs because the reasonable expectation is that there should be coffee available somewhere, even just in the lobby. Never staying here again and currently checking options to see if I can move to a different hotel.show more

The lo...I have nothing but great things to say about Yotel. We took a group of 40 students to DC and stayed with Yotel. The hotel was clean, modern, and updated. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was excellent. We were just a couple of blocks from the National Mall and 1 block from Union Station. We used the Union Station food court both nights we were there for student dining. Bus parking was only a couple of blocks away at the Union Station bus garage. Thank you Yotel for hosting us. We will be back next year.show more
