What surprised me was the quality of the room , the restaurant offerings and the superb service (especially Jonathon , the valet). Arrive the night before , get Jonathon to park your car , head to the restaurant /bar for dinner or a glass of wine and get a relaxing night of sleep before your flight. And , when you return from your vacay, especially if it's a late flight , spend another night there and get Jonathon to retrieve your vehicle next morning as you have a nice breakfast in the restaurant. Takes all the stress out of travelling.Show More

Marriott has two properties at the Calgary airport (YYC) – Delta Calgary Airport Hotel is across the street from the terminal near Door 9, and Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel is near Door 1...Marriott has two properties at the Calgary airport (YYC) – Delta Calgary Airport Hotel is across the street from the terminal near Door 9, and Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel is near Door 13. Quark Expeditions launches polar expeditions that begin at Resolute Bay in Cornwallis Island in Nunavut, Canada. In September 2025 the expedition began at the Delta and was scheduled to return there at the end of the expedition. Weather conditions prevented the air charter from returning on the day scheduled, so Quark’s ground crew worked with Marriott’s team to secure lodging for the returning passengers as they arrived from Resolute. Through this collective effort Quark was able to book rooms for all of us at the In-Terminal Hotel, and every detail was well attended-to. Two Quark ground personnel were staffing a table with the room keys for the returning passengers, so it took less than 10 minutes for us to check in. It was about 9:30 pm when I checked in, so I headed right away to the Yakima Social Kitchen and Bar. I ordered the charred corn chowder ($14) along with a shot and a beer. (The restaurant is open daily from 6am - 12am.) The soup was out to me within 10 minutes and was piping hot, nicely seasoned, and perfect for a light meal that took the place of dinner. Once in, the room I was given was perfect. The room had a highly effective blackout curtain, zero single-use plastics, a smartly laid out bathroom, and a comfortable bed. My stay was too short to experience the amenities – like the oxygen spa, the pool and whirlpool, and the fitness center. But what I did experience was a good night’s rest. My thanks to both Quark’s ground crew and Marriott’s staff for accommodating us on short notice, in what I found to be an outstanding in-airport hotel.Show More

Yet the overall décor, service level and catering are nothing special and in some ways even inferior to the many ‘just off-airport’ hotels at YYC or those in smaller towns in Alberta and BC in which I stayed for less than half the price on the same trip. This no doubt reflects the hotel’s dependence on corporate clients such as tour operators and airlines, but the whole point of chain hotels was – or used to be – a uniform standard and equivalent pricing in all locations. The restaurant was even more disappointing. I ate once in the actual restaurant. I had reserved a table for one much earlier in the day but when I showed up the host said there were no tables available and I’d have to eat at the bar or wait an unkown time. After protesting and showing my ‘table for one’ confirmation mail to a manager, they did finally manage to find me a table. I was served dainty little salady dishes and an ok beer. Next night I dined in-room. This was served with disposable everything, portions were tiny, the ordered dish tasted pretty vile and then, to boot, I got a nastily worded letter under my door implying that I had somehow absconded without paying my bill and I needed to settle at once! This was the first request for payment that I had received. In a normal hotel, room service is just charged at check-out. Marriott really ought to do better than this. Given this, plus the exorbitant room prices I can’t give this more than a 2-star rating, and was tempted to go lower. Avoid if possible – simply a high-end rip off.Show More
