Unless The Diplomat gets their stuff together, this is an absolute never again for me. (See photos below for the poop smeared on the wall) I was texting with the front desk staff for more than 24 hours before I got someone to address my problem. That wasn’t before I found hair in the bed that I slept in, Poop smeared on the wall, Dust on every surface, Hair stuck to the coffee machine, in the refrigerator in the room. I thought to myself when I arrived, “i think I’ll make some tea and relax a little bit before my conference start starts”. I ran Hot water through the coffee machine and it came out a disgusting yellow color with sediment in it. Mind you- we pay $50+ dollars per day to park here, mandatory 20% gratuity on everything you buy at the bar, and mandatory resort fee. Where is that money going? It’s definitely not to cleaning supplies for the rooms. Every staff member along the way has dropped the ball- it’s not statistically possible for as many “accidents” or “oversights” to occur in a two day stay. The Diplomat staff basks in low achievement and doing the absolute least while commanding a premium price. We had a server for dinner (can’t remember her name) African American middle aged lady working the night of 11/14 in the bar/lounge area. She made our table feel guilty for asking questions about the menu and scolded us when we offered a credit card instead of a room number when we placed our order- like she was angry we were even there. $96 for steak frites and one drink with a MANDATORY 20% tip. Why give good service when you can treat people like children and get 20%? 4oz of steak by the way and a MOUND of store bought fries. Are you kidding me? In an age where Hospitality is dying, The Diplomat has been cold and dead a long time. Do not stay here- there’s plenty of other places to waste your money.Show More

The pool is neither as you...This would be a beautiful hotel if they did not misrepresent its conditions and amenities. To start with, their website entices you with “infinity” or “cantilevered” pool. The pool is neither as you can see from attached picture. They took a picture to make it look as “infinity”, but this is a lie. Most importantly, the hotel is going through a major renovation. “Major” is too soft of a word for a type of construction that is going on at the property. 75% of outside facilities are closed. That “infinity” pool is the only one open. Mind it, it is 4’3” at its deepest end, good for kids …probably. Beach facilities are under construction also. There is no restroom or changing room on the beach. You have to go inside the hotel for that and mingle with all the business people attending the conferences and business meetings (this is how they make the bulk of their income). There is only one shower at one end of the beach though most of the guests use the other side Amenities for which they charge $50/night resort fees largely are not available except the yoga on the beach (only twice on seven days) since all other pools are closed. Their gym and parking are across the street and the connecting bridge is closed because of construction. They charge $40 for umbrellas . Construction noise is unbearable even on weekends. The staff is mostly good, but some of them were not helpful arguing about extra two bottles of water . Read other negative reviews, don’t let them fool you. Forgot to mention, I am a Diamond member and have been with Hilton to close to 35 years.Show More

We flew into FLL on the redeye, so we arrived to the hotel at 7:30 am on the day of check in, needless to say well before the 4pm check in time. Uncertain but very hopeful that we would be able to get into our room and delighted reception was friendly and happy to accommodate our very early arrival. Also, upgraded to a beautiful room with a balcony in recognition of my Hilton Honors Gold status! The room had views of the intercoastal waterway and was west facing, so we were graced with beautiful sunset views... I would venture to say it rivaled an ocean view room! The room itself was very nice, loved the shutter feature opening the bathroom up to the rest of the room and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Honorable mentions include housekeeping, and the wonderful staff at Counter Point Cafe, both very friendly and attentive. We also took advantage of the beachside and poolside service for drinks, snacks and lunch, all delicious. Self-parking is conveniently located directly across the street at $50/nightly charge and Valet is also a great option with very fast and friendly service - based on our personal circumstances we took advantage of both throughout our stay. The property is incredible, still under renovation it will be absolutely stunning when complete! Only minor inconveniences from the ongoing renovation, nothing that seriously detracted from an absolutely fabulous stay. I wouldn't consider any other location than The Diplomat for my next trip to Hollywood... See you next time!Show More

Would never return on my own dime. I attended an onsite conference and was consistently frustrated whenever I asked for the slightest service. Food was far below average, service was provided reluctantly (if at all), and I was constantly up-charged. Need a space to take an online interview before your room is ready? Suggest a second-floor location where the wifi doesn't work. Want to store your bag until departure? That'll be $5. Looking for a spot of a shade in the blazing sun? You need to pay $38 (on top of the resort fee, which includes beach use) and if you sit in a chair that happens to receive a few feet of shade from a nearby umbrella that's already set up, we will come remove it to ensure it doesn't improve your experience. How about a sip of water in your room? The bottles are $9 a piece. (Most hotels at this price point provide 1 or 2 as an amenity for thirsty travelers.) Ultimately, the fault lies with management and the policies they've put in place, which the staff (who seem under-resourced) are just trying to implement. I was here on business, so I tried to ignore the frustrations, but if I were vacationing, it would've really ruined the vibe. Stay away.Show More
