I was very pleasantly surprised by this DoubleTree hotel! I’ve traveled for business my entire professional career. I was always drawn to DoubleTree Hotels but the last few years some of the DT hotels...I was very pleasantly surprised by this DoubleTree hotel! I’ve traveled for business my entire professional career. I was always drawn to DoubleTree Hotels but the last few years some of the DT hotels I stayed in had changed, not quite the original DT Hotel charm I had always made a point staying with. Maybe some hotels shouldn’t change their original style, amenities and benefits just trying to be more current or faddish. This location is fabulous and everything that travelers had grown to love down through the years. From the moment I entered the lobby I was taken back in time to an original upscale hotel I had always stayed in, and grew to love. The smell of their famous fresh baked chocolate chip cookies was drifting through the air, and bagged and ready for my trip up to my hotel room. The front desk checked me and my family in with friendly professionalism and had us on our way in only minutes. Once in our room, the room was lit and smelled freshly detailed. I hate a dark room when I open my hotel room door. When I approached the dining table to lay my keys down I was blown away by the fantastic view of part of Niagara. The landscaping was well groomed and a patio area to sit and enjoy the view. Our travels brought us to Niagra for a family reunion/wedding. So knowing the area with chairs and tables was another great amenity. Let me quickly mention the Ballroom were our family meet and greet was held was nicely arranged and detailed. Food was good and served hot. We also had a bar set up available there. Service was above average and again friendly. Our morning breakfast in the restaurant was represented well with a large selection of menu items. Buffet or order off their menu items. Quick site seeing tours were easily accessible in their lobby! This was not expected! When we return from dinner at the famous Buffalo Wing Restaurant, Anchor, we decided to have a nightcap in the lounge and enjoy live music entertainment. Our other family members joined us for more catching up and a wonderful time was had by all. If you are looking for a weekend getaway or traveling on business I highly recommend this clean, comfortable and reasonably priced hotel hole heartily.Show More

Room 434, a Junior Suite river view with 2 queen beds, A truly bizarre room configuration 8 x 23 wing off of the bedroom and a long sofa facing the wall, pretty useless. 1 of the sofa legs is broken. Everything is rather dusty. • Pubic hair on the toilet, • Orange mildew around the shower caulking, and around the shower door runners. • Toilet paper holder falling off the wall. • Random piece of toilet paper stuck to the wallpaper. • A chintzy 38 inch vanity on a 60 inch bathroom wall, really no place to put anything, so much wasted space, no towel bars. • And watch your shins! Wood bed platform with rather sharp edges extends well past the mattress, quite the shin-bruising hazard. • Even though we had the Do Not Disturb flag on the door, housekeeping came in, we know they moved some things around, they took the floor towel and didn’t even replace it, just bizarre!Show More
