The renovation has managed to honor the iconic identity of the establishment (it was the first luxury hotel in Spain!) while providing state of the art facilities and comfort. The personal attention to detail by the entire hotel team really makes a big difference at this hotel compared to others in the same category in the city (looking at you Westin and Thompson - we have stayed at both in Madrid in the past and they don’t hold a candle to Gran Hotel Ingles). From before the moment my family and I (we are a couple with a child and dog) entered the premises we were met warmly and by name by Prince (concierge extraordinaire). The reception team welcomed us with sparkling wine, fresh juice, macrons and candies, and cold towels to refresh our hands. Our room was an incredible mix between classical architecture and modern interior and amenities. Everything was on point. The toiletries were Aqua di Parma and L’occitane. So many gifts in the room. The turn down service was especially a nice touch - our electronic charger cables were tidied up and water bottles replenished. They even gifted us a sleep mask (not that we needed it - the blackout curtains are spot on). Shower and bathtub in the room ensured that we were relaxed and enjoyed our stay immeasurably. Breakfast was fabulous. We enjoyed returning to the hotel after outings in the fast paced city. We were in Madrid for a medical procedure and the hotel made recovery so smooth and delightful. Both evenings we spent enjoying cocktails at the lobby bar. Dinner at the lobby restaurant was also delicious. (We tried a tapa that had recently won a national award, it was sooooo good!! Churro with leek and calamari… trust me it’s more delicious than it sounds, even our six year old who normally dislikes seafood loved it). The attention to detail is enviable… even in the fitness center there were complimentary earphones in case a guest forgot their own (with a lightening compatible outlet). So elegant and thoughtful. The Sisley spa was booked during our stay but we hope to be back soon and give it a try. All in all - exquisite boutique hotel in a prime location with very personalized, elegant service in a modernized historical setting.Show More

It app...We chose the Gran Hotel Inglis as our email to ask about the hotel, its location and the choice of rooms available was responded to promptly and beautifully and all our questions were answered. It appeared to us that the staff had a pride in the hotel and were not just replying to an email. Compared to other hotels we emailed who were slower to respond and with less attention and details on their reply. Pre-arrival the Concierge helped us book tours and restaurants and the recommendations were excellent. The guide service to visit the hotel was knowledgeable and professional. The restaurants suggested were worth dining at. On arrival the support was excellent. We were welcomed, nothing was an issue and the offer to take our hire car to the carpark was wonderful, given we were not familiar with Madrid roads. We had joked, when navigating our way through busy Madrid (and taking a few wrong turns) to the hotel at night around 7pm about asking the hotel to take the car to the carpark for us and to collect it too! Then we were so grateful when the Manager offered this service! The Reception, Concierge, Housekeeping and Restaurant/ Bar and breakfast teams were polite, efficient and friendly. Always saying hello and asking about our day (at all hours 8am through to 2am). Nothing was too difficult for the team and their responsiveness and assistance was above expectations. Calling us taxis and following through to make sure they arrived, especially 3am for the airport. Then of course, the location of the Gran Ingles Hotel is so central to explore Madrid and makes sightseeing and choosing from many local restaurants easy. The Premier Room we booked with the bath and the three balconies was lovely and the features and amenities perfect. Looking over the street from the balcony, particularly our first night was bliss and exciting. The king bed was comfortable. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you to the Gran Hotel Ingles. Some stays were very long on business. No where have we experienced the consistency for a week of excellent hospitality - the breakfast was a treat; dinner two evenings during our stay satisfied our vegetarian palette. The concierge team was attentive to our needs and were there whenever we needed their support. House keeping with cleanup and turn down reflected the hotel way of delivering quality service. The leader for the operations at the hotel and the front desk Jorge Garcia told me they make it part of their hiring process, to get people with a passion for delivering high quality service with congeniality and a smile. We felt at home with the Gran Hotel Inglés Dream Team present to make our stay a memorable one. Looking forward to future trips to Madrid. The hotel is located perfectly for easy walking to sightseeing, restaurants and multiple squares for sitting down for a gelato, or Churro with chocolate sauce!Show More

The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the city, within walking distance of great restaurants, bars, and cultural spots. The hotel itself blends classic charm with modern comfort, creating an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and intimate. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and professional, always ready to assist with anything I needed. My room was beautifully decorated, quiet, and very comfortable, with all the small details you expect from a high-end boutique hotel. The breakfast was excellent as well, offering quality options and a relaxed setting. The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that some services felt slightly slower than expected during busy hours. Nothing major—just small delays that stood out compared to the overall high standard. Still, it’s a wonderful place to stay in Madrid, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return on my next visit.Show More
