While the location is good, the experience fell short in almost every other way. Staff & Service: With the exception of Vera, the staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming. During our entire stay, we were never once greeted as we came and went. That lack of basic courtesy set the tone. Room & Facilities: The room and bathroom were extremely small, even by Paris standards. The balcony was unsafe and poorly designed — the step up/down was dangerously high, there was no handrail, and we couldn’t fully close the window. Security was also an issue: there was no deadbolt on the door, and people entered our room at all hours despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign (completely unacceptable). Dining Restrictions: After a long day of travel, we were turned away from the restaurant because we were in jeans and t-shirts. For a hotel at this price point, that level of rigidity felt out of touch. Check-in & Charges: We had to wait nearly four hours for our room at check-in. On top of that, the billing practices were misleading because they advertise that all taxes are included when booking, but this is not true. They charge $50 per person per day upfront for amenities — something I’ve never encountered elsewhere. While some of this was refunded at checkout (minus taxes), charging guests upfront for unused services is unreasonable.
For the money we spent ($5,400 for six nights), I would absolutely recommend staying elsewhere.
Final note to management: Please don’t bother with a canned “we’re sorry” response. Your registration staff made the biggest impression — and not once did they acknowledge us with so much as a “bonjour.” That silence spoke louder than anything else.Show More
