On arrival we ...We had a 5 night stay in this beautiful Portuguese Classical Hotel, and from the time we arrived until leaving the Service given by the Hotel staff was exceptionally good in every way. On arrival we were surprised and very pleased to be informed that we had been given a complimentary upgrade to a suite on the 6th floor (Room 610) and this was a delight. Spacious and so well furnished and this really did make our stay that much better. The Hotel is beautifully decorated and so much thought has gone into this, and their attention to detail is first class. The welcoming lounge with free tea/coffee 24/7 is a real bonus as well. The sleep quality was extremely good, and the breakfast in the morning was fine for us, both quality and choice. Many thanks to the Portuguese Receptionist at the Front Desk, I think her name was Anna, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in arranging our tours. We would certainly stay here again.Show More

Anna Carolina), Erica and Joao were gold star employees at reception. They could not have been friendlier for all 4 nights I stayed here. Because of them I will be a loyal customer. Breakfast offered wonderful selections and the complimentary afternoon wine served in the lovely lounges was wonderful after a day of sightseeing. I have travelled to over 75 countries and this was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Don’t think twice about staying here. Great location as well.Show More

Very clean. Very pleasant staff. Well stocked breakfast. Lots of places to sit inside hotel, would be ideal for small groups travelling together to congregate. Area feels safe for a solo female traveller. About 150 metres from a metro station, making it easy to get from airport (1 easy change).Show More

It is traditional and lots of wood and marble which reminds us of a bygone era. Our room didn’t have a view just the back of hotel shrubbery and a wall. It felt roomy and the air conditioner worked well & beds very comfortable. The bathroom had mixer taps to operate the shower & intially had a drain smell. Breakfast was in a wooden panelled room with white table cloths and staff circling round constantly cleaning unobtrusively and politely. It was buffet style and perfectly adequate though we did find the chocolate fountain and vegetables and soup served at breakfast bizarre. But then again some cultures like that for breakfast. An absolute positive was a proper toaster and kettle which is generally missing in most other hotels. We have been 5 star hotels and had a luke warm cup of tea! Not here perfect you boil the kettle and make your own & same with the toaster 👍👏 Staff on reception were welcoming and friendly as was the door man. Overall it was good value for what we had & great location for us as we like a quiet area and like walking.Show More
