The hotel is perfectly situated in the Santos district with incredible views of the harbour. It was close to the historic center, but far enough that it was quiet. Our room was large and comfortable...The hotel is perfectly situated in the Santos district with incredible views of the harbour. It was close to the historic center, but far enough that it was quiet. Our room was large and comfortable with the best bathroom we had in our three weeks touring. It had huge windows with water views, a heated wall with robes, and a lovely large tub. Breakfast was great with the option to eat outside in the courtyard that is surrounded by ancient fig vines. There are exceptional restaurants within walking distance and public transport is highly accessible. The upper terrace with honour bar access is a highlight as it has the most incredible views of the harbour. The night sky is simply magnificent from here, especially since we had a full moon! The front desk staff was incredible and went above and beyond to help us with everything from touring advice to restaurant recommendations and booking our taxi to the airport. Great transport links including bus stops very near to hotel. Quieter area of Lisbon so we had a relaxing as well as a comfortable stay. Extensive breakfast choices, in good weather breakfast is outside in the terrace garden. Third floor lounge/ library with balcony area and more wonderful views. Honesty bar and complimentary tea, coffee, port, cake and biscuits. Room service - light snacks. Lisbon is a beautiful city with plenty to do. Highly recommend this hidden jewel.Show More

They are the hotel's best feature. The hotel has the air of an early 20th century British home complete with lots of dark wood paneling and period furniture. While it has a veneer of elegance, it is quite dark and dated. The elevator is very small and cramped for travelers with suitcases. The bedroom was adequate in size but the carpet seemed musty and worn. The bathroom was well supplied but the faucets were loose and the shower was on the side of the bathtub. The bathtub was very narrow and as you had to stand sideways, it was awkward to shower. In summary, this hotel is pleasant but long overdue for renovation and modernization.Show More

The hotel is uniquely decorated and delightfully furnished in a traditional Portuguese manner. The Library at the top floor is another unique facility stacked with multiple informative books. The rooms were clean and noise free, The service was unobtrusive and yet efficient. The lounge and dining area would have done with a subtle background music to complete this enjoyable experience.Show More
