So, we stayed in two rooms in this hotel. The first room was just okay. This is an old property and as it's attached to Rupp Arena, it sees a lot of action year-round. And that shows in the condition of the rooms. Bathrooms are extremely small and the showers are in old tubs. On the second of our two stays, the tub stopper was separate from the drain itself and sitting off to the side, all rusty and gross, connected to nothing. The bathroom door in the second room we stayed in would not close properly and had no lock. Speaking of the tub shower, by the time we were halfway through our routine, we were in water up to our ankles; the drain was but a trickle. The enamel is worn through on the tub in places. The baseboards in both rooms are scuffed and in dire need of paint. The lampshade on the bedside lamp was filthy with a huge ugly stain. The wall beneath the window in one of the rooms has a huge area of puckered plaster, obviously from water damage and an attempt to fix it. There is more water damage from the ceiling all the way to the floor, discoloring the wallpaper, which is peeling off in other areas of the room. The windows themselves are filthy and wearing huge dirty streaks. The curtains are stained with who knows what, but looks like blood. The rooms are smelly, likely from the old carpet. This place needs to be shut down one floor at a time and fully renovated -- and the room we stayed in on our second night should be sealed shut until a renovation is done. To take money from people to stay in this room is a crime. How can it be that Hyatt is so greedy that they have not done this already? The beds are fairly comfortable however, and the availability of outlets (including USB plug-ins) is acceptable. Despite its good location and the staff being overall pretty good, I would not choose this property again. In fact I would drive fifty more miles at night in the rain to not stay at this property, and I would advise anyone visiting the area to seek out a different hotel for their stay.Show More
