I have never been more frustrated with a property and specifically the Front Desk Staff than the Renaissance in Naples. 1) Did not properly alert guests that there was a taxi strike in Naples the day of our departure and we missed our train to Rome after sprinting through the subway system. When I called to suggest they do more, the staff member was defensive and negative saying they had put signs out and making it my fault. No apology. No concern for my situation. Just plain nasty. Neither my wife nor I saw a sign plus a sign did us no good sitting in our room getting ready thinking we had time. 2) Front Desk claimed they were trained Navigators but had little to no good suggestions about things to do and were annoyed when I asked. Again, barely even tried like I was a bother to them. 3) upon arrival there was little to no recognition of my loyalty status, and the upgrade provided was just a normal room with a lousy view. I called down to ask about an upgrade … no answer… so I walked down and asked. We were provided a much nicer room with a view but it seemed like a hassle to the front desk person. I’m not being high maintenance … every other Marriott I stay at recognized loyalty at check-in, welcomed guests, checked to see that a room was a good one or explained why it wasn’t possible to do better. In short, they cared about the people who were their guests. This Front desk seemed to care about how soon they could leave, every single one of them. The people that DID care was the servers, cleaning staff, and mostly doormen who jumped to try to help us, pointed us to directions etc…. First time in 26 years I’ve been this disappointedShow More

I chose this property despite higher rates than other, more prestigious sea-front hotels in the region, specifically to remain loyal to Marriott Bonvoy. Unfortunately, my experience fell far below expectations for both the price paid and Marriott standards. Key issues during my stay: • Elite Upgrade Denied: Despite my Titanium status and week-long stay, I was not granted a complimentary upgrade and was told no upgrade would be provided at any point. • Breakfast Restrictions: The buffet protein options were limited, and when I requested boiled eggs or an egg-white omelette due to medical dietary restrictions (cholesterol concerns), my request was denied unless I paid extra. • Lack of Elite Amenities: The hotel has no lounge. When I requested complimentary water or a coffee machine while working remotely from my room, these were refused and water was charged. • Unexpected Parking Costs: No parking fees were disclosed at check-in, yet at check-out I was charged €36 per day for parking plus €30 per electric vehicle charge. • Cleanliness & Health Concerns: Throughout my stay, I experienced allergic reactions (eyes and throat), which I believe were caused by excess dust in the room or an unclean air-conditioning system. • Service Quality: Interactions with reception and management were consistently cold and dismissive, lacking the hospitality expected at a Marriott Bonvoy property. From the minute we arrived in the hotel, we were greeted with such politeness and professionalism from the receptionist Ernesto. He was amazing at his job and he is a credit to this hotel. We were expecting our room to not be ready as we arrived an hour and a half before the check in time of 3pm and we wanted to chance it, and to our surprise, our room was ready. When we got to our room, we dropped our bags and went downstairs to the O’Koffi bar and Vicenzo was our waiter. He was fantastic, charming and very kind to us. Later on in the evening we went to the rooftop bar and Francesco looked after us so well. He came over to us regularly to see if we needed anything and he incredible at his job. The hotel is beautiful, food was delicious, the jacuzzi on the rooftop on the 10th floor is a sight to behold as it has amazing views of all Naples but what stood out to me was the staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and made us feel welcomed. We will definitely return again in the near future.Show More

The staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful - they make it a 5-star experience. Our room was fairly large and clean and we even had a separate room for a closet, which would have been nice to hang up our clothes if we were staying longer. In true European style, the bathroom was small, but it was equipped with a hairdryer and toiletries which was very convenient. The location is also perfectly situated to get to the main square very quickly, but also a block away from the craziness of the main areas. Our taxi was also able to drop us off right in front of the hotel and so we didn’t have to haul our luggage around in the cobblestone streets like a lot of travelers in the area. Lastly, there is a rooftop bar/restaurant with a gorgeous view of the city that I highly recommend visiting!Show More
