The room’s lighting system relied on a touch-screen panel rather than traditional switches, which was confusing to operate and sometimes didn’t work at all. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable, and the sheets seemed to have fine sand particles in them. The restaurant experience was equally disappointing, lacking both flavour and service expected of a premium hotel. Overall, the stay felt unsatisfying, leaving the impression that other hotel chains offer far better comfort and convenience for considerably less cost.Show More

However the room was not well ventilated and there was no fan in the bathroom or toilet so there was a noticeable “toilet” smell when we first walked in. When we brought this up, they responded immediately and sent someone to spray the room however it was only a temporary fix. They offered to let us switch rooms but we opted not to. They provided us with a free late check out to compensate. I only want to bring this up so that the W consider installing a fan in the toilet or ventilate the room better. For such a beautiful hotel, it was a bit surprising but perhaps it was only our room with this issue. It would have been a perfect stay otherwise. We loved the pool - it was clean and warm and there were complimentary snacks and kick boards for the kids. Buffet breakfast was delicious and had lots of options. The check in agent even organised a surprise for my 12 year old who was joining me on the second night of my stay. We got back to the room to a cake with a happy birthday message for him - so special and we really appreciated it! Location - Between flinders lane and Collins street, easy to get everywhere. We’ll definitely be staying again. The hotel suited me as a solo work traveller, and did when my family joined me too. They’ve done a great job at creating a hotel that suits a range of travellers and providing great service.Show More
