My daughter & I booked this BW Hotel Alfa Aeropuerto in Barcelona, Spain through Expedia as the information on their site stated free airport shuttle. Also, state "9 minute walk to port." Both totally incorrect! The hotel is a way out in an industrial area, not where near anything of any interest. We had to take expensive taxis, etc. to get to any of the sites. Also, the "9 minute walk to the port" was an absolutely insane statement. We had to take a taxi to the port which was approximately 45 minute drive! So, we had to spend a considerable amount for transfers from the airport to the hotel. Then, again another considerable amount to get to the cruise ship terminal. You would think the price would be reasonable as there was absolutely NOTHING around this hotel but not really. We paid around $250.00 for one night. It was just a horrible experience. I have requested cab reimbursement from Expedia to no avail. Talking with the Expedia agents is like talking to a rock!Show More

The airport shuttle van operates only in the morning and late afternoon. How is it that an "airport hotel" does not offer a shuttle all day long? Major problem for anyone arriving or departing at noon. It's about a half-mile walk to the Metro station. 2. Charging for luggage storage? For customers who are staying twice? Uneasonable. 3. Web site says they offer ice. No ice dispenser. One goes to the bar and the lady at the bar dispenses two ice cubes for the guest. 4. Extra charge for early check-in? So there is an unoccupied room and if the guest waits two hours, there's no extra charge. The hotel does not incur any additional costs if they let the guest go into the room two hours earlier. Our cruise ship arrived early, and we decided to head to the Best Western to see if our room might be ready or if we could store our bags. I didn’t expect that we could get in early, but it was worth checking. We had the opportunity to store our bags, but a fee of 22 euros was required to do so. Throughout my years of traveling, both domestically and internationally, I have never encountered the need to pay a fee to hold bags until our room was ready. While discussing options for getting to the town center, I watched the next four families who came in behind us all get rooms. We didn’t question why the next four families got rooms, and the staff told us there were no rooms available. I had already paid the 22-euro storage fee for our bags and was now dealing with the disappointment of not being offered a room. The Best Western is located in an industrial park, with no nearby options for dining. On a positive note, we were offered one drink certificate per person for being Best Western award holders. The bar offered a separate menu from their on-site restaurant, and the options were good and reasonably priced. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it certainly was quiet. The courtesy airport bus was on time and departed exactly as scheduled.Show More

Hotel was clean, lots of great amenities. Only downfall was distance away from the main part of Barcelona as it is about a 35 minute car ride into the town. I booked it for the free shuttle to the airport but was disappointed to learn it only runs until 10:30 AM. I would recommend as it is close to the airport and if the shuttle works with flight times it might be helpful. A complaint would be the driver of the shuttle bus, she was extremely aggressive, sped the entire way, and then dropped us off at the arrivals terminal instead of departure. When I questioned her, she claims she spoke no English. So we had to walk quite a distance with all of our luggage.Show More
