The bathroom is quite cramped. The bed and main rooms are clean, but the housekeeping staff needs to check on the dust level on the stove hood and all the baseboards, as they were very dirty in our suite. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and there is a tv in the bedroom as well as another one in the living room. A major issue with this hotel is the poor soundproofing. We heard footsteps, plumbing, tv, and alarm clock noises through the walls and ceilings from other rooms, as well as lots of noise of voices and doors closing from the hallway. If you are a light sleeper, you likely won't have a good rest in this hotel. Another odd issue was the periodic smell of stale cigarette smoke in the bathroom and in the lobby. I don't know if this used to be a smoking property or if there are just lots of smokers standing by the fresh air intake. The hotel seems to be using a very strongly scented cleaning product in the suites, perhaps to disguise this smell, which was a bit unpleasant. Another issue is that there is only ground-level parking, not underground parking, and the car next to ours was broken into overnight. Obviously, this isn't the hotel's fault, but it makes one question the safety of the area a bit. The location is great for the C-train, Stephen Ave, and other downtown Calgary amenities. If you just need somewhere to sleep in earplugs for a night or two, this would be a fine choice.Show More

I had to leave my room/bed, walk downstairs, and stand outside in -20• weather. I understand sometimes things happen, but this was caused by a lack of maintenance done by the hotel itself. I spoke with the hotel manager who was apologetic at the time and offered me a free nights stay should I return (seemed like good customer service at the time). Cut to 6 months later, I’m trying to book at the hotel again, and the hotel manager Mohamed Mafouz will not answer my emails about redeeming my free nights stay. I emailed several times and got zero answer. I then tried calling and left several messages which were never returned. Lastly my calls started going immediately to voicemail without ringing making me assume my number was blocked. I will never stay at a coast hotel ever again after this abhorrent treatment.Show More

There were a couple high end hotels nearby at double the price and more, which was over my budget. I was looking for location, comfort and price. This hotel hit the high note on these. Mark greeted me with a quick and friendly check-in with a compliment water. When I arrived in my room, I was surprised by the space and amenities. This hotel felt like a small apartment. My room was warm on a below zero couple of nights. The supplement baseboard heaters however, were out of commission. Nevertheless, I recommend this hotel for its excellent value.Show More
