I have said it was good, but it is only just better than average. The hotel is well located for exploring this part of Taormina, a 20 minute walk from the Greek/Roman Theatre. The hotel is well located for exploring this part of Taormina, a 20 minute walk from the Greek/Roman Theatre. However, it is nowhere near the beach. The views from the hotel are panoramic looking out over the bay and also Mount Etna (on a clear day). I agree with other reviews, the hotel is a little tired. The rooms are spacious and clean, our bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was a slightly different story. The shower was mounted on the side of the bath, so the depth of the shower is simply the width of the bath, If you are a large person, you will struggle in this shower. Fortunately I am not. Another problem was the lighting around the mirror, it was all down one side, making shaving the right side of my face difficult. Toilet flush is very loud and we knew whenever our next door neighbours had used their facility! Small TV in a large (old) enclosure, lots of channels but none in English. The mini bar was pricey but well stocked. Breakfast was good with lots of variety, but this did not extend to a disappointing coffee machine. Lots of choices but the quality of the coffee was very poor. Highlight for me was both the custard filled croissants and the Granita Con Brioche - wonderful. Fresh fruit was also very good. The pool area is large and a short distance from reception down a lot of steps. The pool was closed as it was November, I understand it is not heated. The sunbeds were few in number and all very dirty (bird droppings mainly). No towels available, had to take them from our room just so we could sit on the sunbeds. It does however provide some of the best views of the surrounding area. Staff are all very friendly and helpful, especially reception and restaurant. Only exception was the evening barman. He looked like he had been sucking lemons all day, and would rather we were not there. Drinks in the bar (which is a table set up just outside the main dinning area) are expensive. All in all a comfortable stay, but I have stayed in much nicer four star hotels.Show More

Huge and lovely and stunning views. But it seems ridiculous that it isn’t heated. This means that it is far too cold to make use of for 6 months of the year. It’s such a waste because it could well be the best pool in Taormina but if you chose this hotel because of the pool out of season, it’s a complete waste of money. Please get it heated! Also, the pool attendants were almost non existent, 2 out of three times nobody was there to provide towels. - ⁠decorating: it could do with an upgrade. My single room had a shower that was very awkward: an attachment fixed to the side wall so it was hard to move around while having a shower. More pillows would be nice. - ⁠breakfast - the woman greeted me at 10am, near the end of breakfast one morning, when it was almost totally empty and was trying to get me to move from my table set for 3, to a table set for 2. I mean what a nice way to greet someone on their own arriving for their first breakfast! Very petty. Also, why keep the net curtains closed in the breakfast room? It’s so lovely to see the view! - ⁠sockets: there was only one socket in my room, miles away from the bed.Show More
